Re: [RCSE] Seiko S321 stopwatches
Hi Guys, I have to go with Dieter on this one. Tom has gone to the trouble to make the readily available for all who wants them, so why not allow him to make a few bucks. We are fortunate to have guys like Tom and Dieter that go find and then market all the really cool toys we fly and then some guy who has done nothing to help promote the products goes and buys a few models and starts under cutting prices. Keep up guys and we will all be taking the risks involved in getting these things into the country. My money is going to stay with the guys that brought the stuff to us in the first place even if I have to pay a little more for it. I like to save money as much of the next guy, but I am not against paying a little extra for quality service. [RCSE] Combat Fest on EagleButte March 23/24th and Potluck
Well the time is getting closer and the stakes are being raised for the 2nd Annual Combat Bash on EagleButte. I hear some great prizes, awards and even a Porta-Potty this year. Hey we have made it to the big leagues, no more hiding behind the bush. So even if you don't like to fly combat at least come out and use the porta-potty. :) This is all happening March 23 and 24th. If all rounds of the combat are completed on Saturday the slope will be opened up to racing on Sunday. For more information goto http://eaglebutte.urx.com Following the event will be a chili potluck, if you plan on attend the eating event please use the porta-potty up the hill. :) Seriously though if you plan on coming, and would like to join us after the flying email me so I can get a count. It's definitely going to be a great contest, last year we had 42 pilots and this year we plan on crushing that amount. Like any event bring other stuff to fly. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you there. Glenn W. Tri-Cities, Wa __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! [RCSE] Bird of Time - almost a cult following
I've seen a little info on this ship and get the idea that there is a loyal group of pilots who are into them -- almost like a cult following. I'm intrigued and hope someone can post a few of the web sites that have some Bird of Time info. What relationship, if any, does this "bird" have with the Little Bird or Big Bird gliders that are produced by Ray Hays at Skybench aerotech ? RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] Like new GENIE for sale.
GENIE #18 is for sale. For complete info ask me to e-mail you the GENIE #18 file. 2 pages of information. This 3 piece wing, bagged personal ship was finished late summer of 2000, flown little that year and less in 2001. It's a unique ship, leisurely custom-built by retired me with TLC. It is the yellow one in the website http://www.proptwisters.org/genie/genie.html. Airfoil and planform information are in there. Other than the pic of an Icon type tail, all the yellow pics are of this ship. Due to some odd reflections, none of the pics do it justice. It's elegant. Price is $750, plus shipping. Add $200 for the 4 Volz Micro-Maxx's wired in the wing to operate the all-internal Rotary Driver System for ailerons and flaps. Nothing hangs out. Comes with 800 MAH "stick" battery pack wired up to fit in it. The 6' center section has the very strong center spar system consisting of top/bottom carbon fiber spars (ACP ½" x 72" double tapered .014-.084-.014) with dense foam webs between, all wrapped with Kevlar thread. A 1/8" aluminum plate buried in ply laminations between the spars protrudes forward about 3/8". The ¼" socket head bolt seats on this plate, its top flush with the wing. The main bolt screws into a sturdy 1/8" aluminum holddown system anchored across the fuselage. Another nylon bolt near the TE keys the wing there in a blind nut secured in a ply plate that screws to rails inside the fuselage. The fuse/fin is ply, CF, balsa, bass, aluminum, Harley Michaelis, 26 S. Roosevelt, Walla Walla, WA 99362, ph. (509) 529-2562 RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] It nearly killed me....
but I finally actually mounted a s___, I can't bring myself to type the word. My once beautiful 13' RES ship has this abomination hanging down just past the trailing edgeHH! GES that's terrible looking. I drilled a hole in my baby and everything...(sniff!) ...I can hardly contain my grief... Was anyone else's first skeg this traumatic...or is it just us old gas bags? It was really rough on me...probably because I don't usually get close enough for a skeg to matter...8^)..just had to share this with the board. Oh, no, another broken promise...I'm not even supposed to mention that word...or that BOM thing, either. Jack Womack __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! He had to land because the tx battery was low. As Al posted, it also did quite well in the windy, squally conditions I flew it in in San Diego. I could have stayed up for hours slope'n the tree line behind the vendor tents, had that not required to continuously break all sorts of a safety rules. By the way, our website lists an incorrect price (I'll have Marcela fix that tonight); the Cumulus costs $495. We have 2 in stock and 3 coming. [RCSE] DSlope Fest
Howdy folks. As most of you know Dieter & Marcela of ShredAir are hosting a DS Slope Fest at Cape Blanco in Oregon. http://shredair.com/dsfest.html It is a premiere slope where when the winds blow from the Northwest the DS is fantastic! Landings are a breeze. The camping at the State park is wonderful and the views of the landscape have to be seen to be appreciated. Enough said for now. What I am writing about is this. I have agreed to help Dieter out with a few of the chores that it takes to get something like this off the ground. We are going to be doing Tshirts. I have hired a graphic artist and he has come up with a great design for the worlds first ever DS contest. I know that most if not all of those in attendance will most likely buy one. What I would like to know is if there are any of you out there that would like to order one also. We are not trying to make money on this. Currently the cost of the Tee's will be in the neighborhood of $10.50 - 11.50 each. If it was a larger order I may be able to shave more off the cost. Is there anyone interested? Let me know via private Email stating size. Of course shipping would be additional on top of the cost of the shirt. Thanks for the bandwidth. Cliff Lindgren
