[RCSE] Hawaii

2008-04-20 Thread Fred A. Sheplavy
I will be visiting the "Big Island" from May 26 to June 4. Is there any
sailplane activity going on there?

RE: [RCSE] Hawaii question

2005-04-01 Thread glide
Nah, there is no soaring on Maui. There is no slope lift to speak off
because it's all flat here. So no flying clubs, too. The power field was
plowed in the other month to make way for a new industrial area.

BTW, what day is it?

On a serious note check out this website:
http://groups.msn.com/MISO/_homepage.msnw?pgmarket=en-us

Dwayne Asami really set up a good website with links to help you out on the
soaring aspect of Maui.

Who flys on Maui? I'll bet there's a lot of slope soaring. Are there any
thermal fields?
Any TD soaring club? Are there power fields?

TIA!
Mark

[RCSE] Hawaii

2004-07-20 Thread Keith

Any of you guys on here that live on Maui (any MISO guys here?), please get
in touch with me directly.  Michael Seto, from the San Francisco area, is
vacationing there and was not aware that there was good sloping on Maui!!!
Anyway, I've got his cell number and he'd like it if someone got in touch with
him and let him tag along to check out the soaring there if any of you might be
going flying any time this week or weekend.

You guys are the best!

[RCSE] Hawaii slopes.

2003-01-07 Thread Bill Swingle
I will be flying to the Marshall Islands on Jan. 19th. I have a layover in
Honolulu for one day and will be free to explore on that afternoon.

I'll have no planes but would love to see a local slope. Any slopes worth
checking out near Honolulu?

Hawaii for F3f. I'm interested...

How about if we move the F3f Viking Qualifier from CA to Hawaii! It's
certainly much nicer than where it's planned now. And at least we won't
have to rent a generator to make sure we can charge our flight packs at
night.

For those of you interested in F3F racing, there is a move on to try to
secure a site on Maui for the 2002 Viking Race (kinda the unofficial F3F
World Championship). If we pull it off, who's coming?
