homeowners' insurance policies do, or so I'm told (snip)

There's usually a size and/or weight restriction on the policies. The
company I was with a while back gave me a weight that translated to a Gentle
Lady as the biggest they would cover under the homeowner policy. They
regarded the risk as the same as a kite or other flying toy. There are
limits on liability coverage so if you want more then you have to purchase a
separate 'umbrella' policy. You get this sort of insurance if you have
substantial assets to protect (which in this day and age translates to "a
house"). Its backup insurance just like the AMA's. Its not as cheap as AMA
but it covers other homeowner related sorts of things.

As insurance goes AMA's a gift.

I'm ambivalent about park fliers. I like to see people learn to fly but the
thought of all of those radio transmitters being used anywhere (and probably
eventually recycled to a Battlebot or other inappropriate use) is enough to
make me run for another frequency band. Fortunately our city has a blanket
ban on flying in parks. Which they enforce.

No bashing intended. As I said, I am an AMA member.

Let's not start AMA Bashing. We've cycled through the AMA insurance
stuff too many times. Please don't post any more on the AMA insurance
discussion.

Let's get back to Karlton bashing.
