I've
had a Little Big Winch for two years.  I think it's great for a one-man
show.  I've launched planes up to a Zenith with it.  The Zenith will
stall it if there's any wind (and maybe even if not), but you can still get a
perfectly fine launch.  Don't expect a big zoom.  It's light and
compact and easy to carry.  Maybe not high-start convenient, but it
launches better and is much more versatile than a high
start.

I would like some feedback from flyers who are
currently using a relatively new Little Big
  Winch.

I would like to know your likes and dislikes
  concerning this specific winch.

I have a small car ( Audi TT ) and only have
  room for a small winch.

I plan on launching planes ranging from the
Artemis / NYX to a ARF Bird of Time.

  Thanks,

this for nearly 3 years and have love it dearly. It does well with 3 meters but
was really strained when we tried to launch my SailAire with it..
It is extremely handy to carry.. winch in one hand, lawn mower battery in the
other. I do NOT own a high start at all. We only use a winch, and this one is
as easy to set up as any high start.. why bother with a high start??
Walt is very good to work with, we highly recommend this product.

2001-11-25 Thread Simon Van Leeuwen

As I like to minimize the equipment weight I have to lug to the field, I
would like to hear from those pilots who have directly compared the LBW
to typical winch systems we all use. Specifically, I am interested in
the grunt characteristics, performance degradation under continuous use,
and overall quality. Thanks.
