RE: [RCSE] Replacement BOT ARF received today-Still wrong

2003-09-24 Thread Jim Stovall

Steve,

I'd
send it back! Who's to say that's not the only place the grain is incorrect and
that it still won't fold up off the winch again? I'd say Tower has yet to solve
the quality problem, and where else on this airframe ARE  there
quality issues???. Get your $$ back while you can!

Best Regards,Jim

ARF received today-Still wrong
I received my replacement Bird-of-Time ARF from
Tower today.  I was curious to see if Dynaflight corrected the
spar shear web construction.

No surprise, the grain of the shear web is still
running horizontal to the spar instead of running perpendicular to
the spar.

Instead of sending it back, I think I will strip
the monokote, correct the shear web problem, strengthen the spar box, put
spoilers in the BOT and cover in a different color of monokote.

Anybody have any other suggestions?
