The adjustable towhook is a complex piece of equipment. Don't attempt
this without adult supervision. I was disappointed that I could make a
towhook without having to use my milling machine.

Matt,

It is very easy to make the stock Organic hook adjustable. Where you
currently have holes drilled for the machine screws just make a slot in the
bottom of the fuse. The inner piece of the tow hook is wide enough to carry
the loads as is the fuselage bottom. I have been using this method for
years with the standard tow hooks that mount in a blind not that is glued in
a plywood carrier in the fuse.

Ps, I first heard of this method from Ed Slegers.

Simple. Extend the hole aft and slide the hook back. Loosen one screw and remove the
other. Extend one hole and replace the removed screw. Reverse the process for the
other screw.

[RCSE] re: adjustable towhook

2002-01-26 Thread Matt Fair

I have an organic with the same tow hook and it isnt
very adjustable, but it is strong and light. If
someone has it rigged as adjustable, I would certainly
like to see it or read how they did it... Would be
nice to have an adjustable towhook on my organic.

Kurt,

Check out the titanium hook that Star Flight sells.
This is the one
used on the Organic, Graphite, etc.
