I have a FZ5 also like I posted earlier and LOVE it. It is almost as fast as a DSLR shot to shot. If the new FZ30 was out when I bought my FZ5 I might have got that instead because the zoom control is like a DSLR mounted on the lens, it also has all manual controls if you like that option.
Point & shoots are very cool because they are 1-piece = no dust in the camera or on the sensor and you can get a quality fast F2.8 lens and VR (Vibration Reduction) at a low price with a P&S but the real world problem for me is speed from shot to shot like we do in RC action shots. If that bugs you either get a DSLR or a Panasonic FZ5 or FZ30 or the Fuji S7000, or Canon's S2 IS. There are so many out there. Look at http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs.asp and read the timing specs for the camera you're interested in and pay attention to the shot to shot specs. Anything over 2 seconds feels like a lifetime and most P&S are that and longer. Btw. If you are shooting for web or email or print 4x6 to 8x10 max buying extra MP's won't matter. Anything over 4mp is overkill especially of you buy a camera with a good lens. (Digital SLR) Wow, I looked at the photo samples from the Panasonic FZ25 and was quite impressed. They are all of static shots, so it's hard to know how it would do for Soaring related photography, but the static shots are quite good, and a few a extremely challenging shots to take well: http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/?gallery=panasonicfz5_samples/ Regards, Nathan Woods -----Original Message----- Date: Fri, 16 Dec 2005 11:24:05 -0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Ron Russell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: soaring@airage.com Subject: Re: [RCSE] ???
