FWIW, my ISP provides access at my email through a browser AND through a
normal email program; at home, I download all messages in my email program
(Outlook 2000), and work, I just surf to the website of my provider and have
a look at my messages; I can then delete any messages I don't want to see
(AND I can see if there's a virus BEFORE I download the message; that saved
me a few times) and read any that I want; they stay there until I download
them from home or delete them right away.

Let's drop it... This is one of the most time consuming, band-width wasting
threads we've had yet.

RCSE-2...no advertisements, and FREE (not to mention fast)!
Wait for the real announcement...

I agree, email is the best meduim for this exchange. Mail readers (I still use
Eudora) do a good job at managing the information-- collect headers first, then full
messages, twit filters, and so on.

However, the two failures of the present setup: it allows attachments, which can
propagate viruses, and there is no address security. I use this account ("wilga")
only for this list, and a spambot has collected my address. Ticks me off. I hate
spammers.

But it's the best we've got going, IMO.

Except you would have to expand the threads and wait for them to load, etc.
It is a hell of a lot easier to just delete through the dross you dont want
to read, it takes about 30 miliseconds for me to delete a post and be on to
the next one...
