Re: [biofuel] Biodiesel plans and cold weather
Why you Keith? Because your name seems to be everywhere and on most of the e-mails I receive. Soo... I assumed you were the pro. Anyhow, I've now secured oil from a couple of restaurants and am on the way to a greener truck and less bills in my life. Thanks, and I'll be reading the e-mails. Greatly appreciated. Hello Greg, welcome - but why me, particularly? There are thousands of us here, I'm quite certain I've learnt very much more from them than they could ever learn from me. The current formulation's good to about -25 deg C (-13F), a new formulation to be available later this year will do even better. But you'll need more than just additives for -40. Re: [biofuel] Biodiesel plans and cold weather
Greg: Lots on info on making biodiesel at the Journey to Forever site listed at the bottom of these messages - some of the best information anywhere, actually, contributed by many, and skillfully edited, compiled and placed online by Keith (who should get a nice donation from everyone who has used information from the JTF site, IMO..and they *do* take donations online, folks, so don't be shy (to use a nicer word than *cheap*!) and, you will want a heated filter of some sort. We supply those, and in-line heaters suitable for placement just ahead of the filter, and are located near Kelowna, BC (and Berkely, CA) Edward Beggs http://www.biofuels.ca On Friday, March 19, 2004, at 03:35 PM, Greg Karais wrote: > Keith, > > I'm new to the user group and am planning on making biodiesel. > > Do you have any plans that yo can forward? [biofuel] Biodiesel plans and cold weather
Keith, I'm new to the user group and am planning on making biodiesel. Do you have any plans that yo can forward? I do know that I will want to make at least 40 gallons at a time. I would be using restaurant oil, and have to deal with cold weather in the winter (down to the -40's). So I'm wondering what sort of mixes are necessary for dealing with the cold (i.e will the vegetable oil gel?) Any help you can pass on would be good.
