A teacher from school sent this to me. This is one of the funniest things
I've seen. I've watched several times and still get a great laugh! Regardless
of where you stand on the politics of the day, I think that you'll find this
incredibly funny!

Re: [TMIC] Drug testing

2008-03-11 Thread Natalie Boyles
Hi Gaylon,
My husband who is a computer aided designer had to have a drug test.
They DID NOT ask him if he was taking any meds. No one interviewed him
when he had the test. They took just a sample and a week later he was
told he passed. I worried he might not pass as he was on meds. He
actually had the test for a part-time job and so I doubt anyone would
have called him back if he had failed the test. Yahoo groups has a
good tm email list. I think there is more diversity of people on it;
more acceptance of different views and say, differently stated ones. I
feel more comfortable there; less importance put on who's who.

Re: [TMIC] Another unidentified becomes identified!

Hi Rita
I'm a little north of you - in Mid Michigan. TM also struck me in the C4-C6
region. The cause is completely unknown - except for the stress I was under
while down-sizing a bank branch. I was the type to never show an ounce of
stress so I think I fizzled internally. My neuro didn't think it was stress
related, however, other than that disagreement I think he is great. The cold
weather is hard on me and causes a lot of pain. I'm looking forward to summer
- I'm not comfortable unless it is at least 72 degrees. I often sit with my
right hand wraped in a heating pad to keep it comfortable. I experience pain
in my back, torso and entire left leg and foot. My movement impairments are on
my right side.

The last two snow storms missed us by a few miles - it was odd to watch it on
the news yet look out the window to clear skies.

So good to see you pop up here again! I am so glad you were able to start a

Dear TMIC-members,

some of you may remember me, I´m Ursula from Germany. This list has
been a big help for me at my onset of TM in 2001. I got to know many
wonderful people here from all over the world and with some of them I´m
connected in a deep friendship.
And as I see the list still is helpful and busy and I was especially
touched about all the support Jude got from you. I hope things will
develop well for her, she´s in my thoughts.

The list (Thank you, Jim!) and getting in contact with Sandy Siegel
motivated me to build up a TM-support group in Germany, which meanwhile
is a formal society with a great bunch of people.

A few weeks ago I subscribed again, actually with the hope being able
to participate active. But I had to realize that my time and strength
is too limited and I even get overwhelmed with the many emails to read.

So I´ll unsubscribe again soon, but before I want to greet especially
these people who I know from the past, for example Janh, Wim, Tobe,
Kevin, Sam, Gunny, Barbara and many more - you know who is meant!
You all have a good time, be well and take good care about you!
Love

[TMIC] Lidocaine infusions

2008-03-11 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Did I mention that I've been getting Lidocaine infusions every 4 to 6 weeks for
the past year?

The infusions are done as an outpatient. I go in take off the shirt and they
put EKG leads on me and start an IV, then drip in 2 to 3 mg per Kg of a dilute
solution of Lidocaine- the whole procedure takes about an hour- then I get
dressed and leave.

The infusions decrease my overall pain so I need less of other meds, have fewer
"Bad days", and just feel "Better."

The idea came from Dr. Christine Sang at Harvard.

Has anyone else tried Lidocaine infusions??
