It's not as flexible, but there are two font sizes. The smaller, by default, is used when you're using the touch interface and the larger when you're using the IR remote. One thing that may help viewing from a distance is that there are several Now Playing screens to choose from. The default NP screen shows artwork on the left, and text for track title, artist and album on the right. You can switch that to a text only screen so that more text fits on the screen, which is especially helpful when the larger text is being displayed. The larger font size, however, is smaller than the largest size used on the Classic ("Full"). It's more like the next size down ("Standard"). -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72530 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Also, if the alarm works halfway decently it will be competition to the Radio as well. Probably won't sound as good (although it is stereo), but how many people care how good their clock radio sounds? It would behoove Logitech to consider fixing the alarm bugs in the Radio sooner rather than later... -- mbonsack mbonsack's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1398 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72397 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] font sizes display Touch
Does anyone know if you can choose various font sizes with the Touch as with the Classic? I sit 6 meter from my equipment so a large font size is handy. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Touch as server
I currently use a duet and an external HD attached to my server: file system is EXT3. What about the Touch? Will I be able to plug my drive without formatting to FAT or NTFS? I don't think that's what he means. I think he means using the touch+HDD as a basic NAS to serve files to other devices on the network. The touch runs Samba, so files can be transfered to and from the HDD. I have played a few audio and low bitrate video files on my laptop that were stored on the Touch's HDD, but I have not done any real extensive testing. It certianly won't run the ps3 server software, but if the device supports samba it can be used as a NAS to some limited degree. I will probably be using it as an extra backup for my photos etc. -- autopilot Cheers, auto. *lounge:* squeezebox 3, squeezebox controller, cambridge audio 640a, mission 701's *kitchen:* squeezebox touch, trends ta-10.1, kef cresta 1's. *bedroom:* squeezebox boom *bathroom/garden:* squeezebox radio *car:* ipod classic 80gb *portable:* iphone 3gs 32gb (+ipeng) autopilot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1763 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72484 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

The obvious disadvantages it has compared to SB Touch: - No FLAC support (probably no lossless format support I'm guessing), I suspect this also means that the audio circuits isn't a good as the Touch. - No third party support - Probably no support for synchronized playback with multiple players. However, even though it has some disadvantages I wonder if most users really care, the advantages like large screen, lower price and support for video should look pretty appealing to most users. I suspect the HP Dreamscreen 100 might look more appealing than SB Touch for most users doesn't already have an investment in Squeezebox devices. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72397 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
