Some other things you you might try (one at a time): - Turn the Windows firewall completely off. Just in case there's still something that might be blocking the connection. - Download and install the latest nightly of SBS 7.5.5 beta. This is an updated version of 7.5.4 release, containing only minor bug fixes since the release. http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.5 - Download and install 7.6.0 firmware on the Touch. You would need the following file. Place the following file on an SD card, in the root directory, then reboot the Touch. I've never had any problems running 7.6 firmware with a 7.5 server. fab4_7.6.0_r9441.bin http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.6.0 I have seen the problem you describe, but honestly don't know what causes it. It seems to happen with any of the SqueezePlay-based devices or software. I run a lot of beta software and firmware, so it could be changes in software that clears it up, but I could swear that most of the times it just fixes itself eventually. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87691 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] I am lost
Is the Touch connected via wired ethernet or wireless? The first thing I'd do is make sure the Touch is connecting to the network correctly. On the Touch go to Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > then either Wireless Info or Ethernet Info. Make sure that the Touch is getting an IP address from your DHCP server that is on your network. If you see a 169.254.x.x address, then it did not. If you're connecting wirelessly, you might see if your wireless router has an admin web page where you can see all connected wifi clients. You should see the Touch there. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87691 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] I am lost
Okay, I give up. I have had my Touch for about a week. First day everything ran great. I paused it one night and the next day, the SBS and the player will not see each other. The player says to start the server. Server says Total Players Recognized: 0 The router says everything is okay. My Windows 7 x64 firewall says that Squeezebox Server can do anything is likes. I have rebooted each item individually to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SBS 7.5.4 -r32171 a few times. Since I am new to this, what is most likely the thing I am missing? I thought it was that I was somehow connected to mysqueezebox.com which prevented my from connecting to my library but I don't think that is the case. Well I've just checked my library and I have 493 different genres so it can be quite time consuming to scroll through. I think it depends upon how you tag your music. I use Musicbrainz for tagging and use the last.fm plugin to add genre tags, most of my tracks have more than one genre tag (separated by ";"). Not sure that my system is the perfect solution mind would be preferable to manually tag with things that are meaningful for me but that would take lots of time Jack. -- jackocleebrown jackocleebrown's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10623 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87648 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
