[SlimDevices: Touch] Touch "Unable to Connect" message
Sometimes when I shutdown or hibernate my server after turning off my Touch I get an "Unable to Connect" message giving me the option of retrying, trying an alternative library or going to the home page. When this message is displayed, a Wake on LAN "magic packet" is sent to my server. I was consistenly getting this message (which woke up my server if I had hibernated it) until I shutdown my server and then tried (and failed because the server was shutdown) the options of reconnecting and connecting to an alternative server offered by the message. Since then, I do not get the message (and no Wake on LAN magic packet) after I hibernate or shutdown my server. Does anybody know what conditions cause the "Unable to Connect" message to be displayed after the touch has been turned off? If I knew what conditions caused this message to be issued, I would then be able to avoid them so that I could reliably hibernate my server without it being immediately woken up. -- coyrls coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87325 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] Wake on LAN Problems
I am having problems with my Squeezebox Touch and Wake on LAN. I had it working reliably but am now having problems and I dont think Ive changed anything (but something must have changed). On some occasions (but not always) when I hibernate my server after first powering off the touch (soft power off), the touch turns on with the message Problem Connecting and gives me the choice of connecting to my SBS server or mysqueezebox.com. As it displays the message, it sends a magic packet which wakes up my server and when the SBS server is running the message disappears. As I say this doesnt happen all the time. When I was testing today, it didnt happen on the first two hibernations but after the first two it happens every time. I was using the Server Power Control plugin (v20091031.005505) to suspend my server but I can reproduce the problem by suspending my server from the Linux command line (/usr/sbin/pm-hibernate) without using the plugin. I have no screensaver on when I power off my Touch and cant see why it (sometimes) wants to maintain the connection with my SBS. I also have alarms turned off. This problem started with 7.5.3 and Ive just upgraded to 7.5.4 and I still have the same problem. Ive tried changing the Power On Resume settings from Pause at power off / Remain paused at power on to Stop at power off / Remain stopped at power on but this had no effect. Id really like to get this working reliably. -- coyrls coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87081 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Sorry. this is a repeat of the information in the post above ... we replied at the same time! -- coyrls coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86745 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] No output after switching from mysqueezebox

I tried what you suggested but it seemed to create a whole set of problems. I was listening to BBC listen again through mysqueezebox and when the SBS started up when my computer was turned on, the playback stopped and I lost most of the items on my top level menu. I couldn't get anything to work and so power cycled. Once I managed to connect to the SBS my menu items came back. If it is an answer to the no output problem, it not something that I will be doing as it seems to create more problems that it solves. -- coyrls coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85788 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] No output after switching from mysqueezebox
I have a problem with my newly installed Squeezebox Touch. If I switch from mysqueezebox.com to my local squeezebox server and select something from my music, everything looks ok from the now playing screen but there is no audio output(I'm using analogue connections). If I turn off and turn on the Touch again (not a power cycle just the soft off and on from the screen), go to the now playing screen and touch play I get audio output as normal. If I press pause and then play without the turning of and on it doesn't fix the problem. Anybody seen this and is there any fix? -- coyrls coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85788 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
