Well, it happened to me again. I restarted the squeezebox server but
that didn't do the trick. So had to physically remove power from the
Touch and plug it in again... that solved things once more.

I bought a new Touch last week, and have been using it in conjunction
with my Synology NAS as Squeezebox server (7.5.3), either with local
music on the NAS or with Spotify. I use iPeng as client.

I've had exactly this symptom 3 times now... Exactly as you describe,
the track appears to start playing, but the track time counts up to
around 15 seconds then resets, and no sound appears. The interesting
thing is that you can still change playlists, album art for new songs
appears instantly, but nothing will play.

The first time this happened I unplugged and replugged the Touch,
restarted Squeezebox Server on my NAS, and it started working again.
Second time I just had to turn off the Touch and switch it back on
again at it worked. Third time that wasn't enough, so I'm going through
a full reboot cycle now. I've had the same symptom using mp3 streamed
off the NAS and using Spotify. 

I'm thinking it's probably the Squeezebox server being flakey, but it
could be iPeng I guess?
