TinySBS stores favorites.opml on the Touch's internal filesystem. I forget the exact path. Re the 100 item limit on TinySBS playlists, I would guess that it wouldn't be a big issue in Ikabob's case, in which each item is a radio station URL as opposed to a single track. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85913 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] How can I easily transfer playlists to Tiny SBS?
Mnyb and aubuti, Do you know where/how TinySC stores it's URL based Favorites? There is no Favorites folder nor OPML file when I look on my SD card. Yet somehow TinySC picked up my Favorites Folders and sub-Folders (guessing from SBS) at some point. But this is an outdated list and has been updated since on both SBS and MySB, yet TinySC still lists folders & urls that I have long since discarded. Ikabob, Another oddity of TinySC (at least on mine) is when I go to Favorites, it lists the above mentioned outdated Favorites, but also shows "On MySB.com" 5 times? Four of these are empty, only one ever actually shows my real MySB > Favorites. I'm guessing these empty folders are again getting picked up by TinySC somehow and just won't let them go. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85913 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] How can I easily transfer playlists to Tiny SBS?
Ok playlist with Radio stations ? Wonder what Tiny SBS does then ? Also important I just remember one limitation that going to spoil this project. Tiny SBS is limited 100 songs playlist, due to it's puny cpu, and also sbs playlist handling where juggling a simple text file has becomme a database operation ? I would load 7.6 on to it. SBS had for a while a severe db bug that practically killed performance on smaller cpu machines, dont know if it fixed in 7.5.4 ? So 7.6 beta . Then i would hack the server.prefs file wherever it hides on the Touch to take larger playlists, I would experiment and test what works nowdays. Also some of the most iritating language bugs have been fixed in 7.6 . But the lost of web-UI and plugins ? And the performance I dont see running the server on Touch as a practical option if you have a large collection. And especially iif you have multiple players. Must be better for all if the original bug was adressed instead. -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] How can I easily transfer playlists to Tiny SBS?
On topic try keep to collections internal file and folder structure the same. Then create a smal playlist with Tiny SBS( when you have scanned the files). >From that playlist you can learn two things. Where it is, it's here you are going to place your old plalists. Open the playlist with wordpad or similar text editor. Then you see the file path for the songs you selected in your test playlist. Now it will be obvius how you should modify the file path in your old playlists. Use search and replace all in your text editor, done . Hopefully this works and Tiny SBS will happily scan playlist not done by itself. -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Is it not so that Tiny SBS does no do " radio" localy as a full version of SBS do? Sure. Switching between servers (SBS, TinySBS, mysb.com) is pretty easy, but if TinySBS will do everything for you then you can even save that extra little step. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85913 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

That's pretty strange, but TinySBS may help you. Another possibility is to put those stations on your Favorites list at mysb.com and connect the Touch to mysb.com instead of SBS or TinySBS. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85913 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] How can I easily transfer playlists to Tiny SBS?
Thank you Aubuti. The main reason I am shutting off the pc is that there are times when I have a large playlist of radio stations and I choose one specific station (usually WOR???or WGN???)and for some reason it crashes the SBS on my pc. I then have to go all the way down to the basement and reboot SBS. So far this does not happen on Tiny SBS. It's like a radio station overloads one of the ports because when I check SBS Control Panel, 2 of the ports are labeled "failed". I checked firewalls and it checks out ok. So, that is why I may change to TinyI'd rather not. -- Ikabob Ikabob Squeezebox Touch w/SBS; SAE Amplifier;Marantz Pre-amp;ESS Heil Speakers(main listening speakers plus various additional speakers). Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] How can I easily transfer playlists to Tiny SBS?
Unlike regular SBS, there is no place in TinySBS to specify the location of the music folder and playlist folder. TinySBS just scans the entire USB drive (or SD card) that is attached to the Touch. Anything it recognizes as an audio file gets added to the library. I presume that anything it recognizes as a playlist file (*.m3u) gets added to the list of playlists -- but I haven't tested that to confirm. There are some things you definitely lose with TinySBS, including: - ability to control it via the web ui - ability to transcode - support for the old SliMP3 and SB1 players (though I doubt you have those) - support for plugins The other main thing you may lose with TinySBS is stability. It works fine for some people, but is a nightmare for others. It will definitely be slower to scan your library. And if your current arrangement has your server outside your listening room, you lose that convenience as well. The TinySBS itself is silent, but if your library is on a USB drive you will have a whirring hard drive in your listening room. USB drives can be very quiet, but they are not silent unless they're solid state. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85913 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
