Just a quick report from New Zealand. All the online retailers were showing a warehouse stock of 9 units at the beginning of the week (NZ is small enough that all the retailers share the same distributor), and that's down to 7 now. Actually, it should be 6 units as my order just went through! The Touch status on Amazon switches back and forth between "available April 19th" and "unavailable." I cancelled my preorder from Amazon and ordered the Touch from the Logitech site yesterday when the item status changed to "in stock." An hour or so after my order, the Logitech site said "out of stock." I called them and they said that they don't have any and they're waiting for a new shipment. Their site now says "in stock" again. I checked the status of my order and it said "no orders found." I missed the UPS guy today :( they are sneaky these little brown fellows in their little brown van. I redirected it to my workplace, hopefully I'll pick it up tomorrow will see :) I tried to contact logitech sweden via some web form a month ago ? To get them to use something else like the postal service, UPS is always a problem. But the logitech web shop simply don't communicate with customers. I know how they work so usually i try to get Squeezebox things elsewhere, but I want my Touch *now* so I've chosed to suffer the logitech web shop experience. It took ten minutes to get it up and running and has been playing ever since. It sounds so much better than my Squeezebox Receiver that I now think I have to replace my other Squeezeboxes... Ah the wonders of modern global distribution According to the UPS tracking gizmo, this morning my SB Touch was a mere stones throw (ok 5 miles) from me here in London. (Cure rubbing of hands in anticipation) ...and then it decided to take a small detour via Birmingham, a mere 240 mile round trip, before hopefully returning to London tomorrow. I received my package at work mid Friday afternoon. It had originally been scheduled for Monday delivery but showed up today. Not a bad conclusion to the affair. Setup took about 10 minutes for the various entries and firmware update. I'd already upgraded to SBS version 7.5 so the server was ready to go. Everything is working perfectly. I've just finished syncing and volume matching the SB3/Lavry and the Touch (analog out) to do some serious comparison. Right out of the box things are very close. I plan to do some close listening over the weekend and will see if the initial impression holds up. However, the good news is that Logitech upheld their end of the bargin for the people who preordered directly from Logitech. I am canadian. I tried to buy the Touch on Logiteh canadian Web site, but unfortunately I can't place an order. Same thing by phone. I tried to call Logitech in the US. Just FYI. Logitech site says out of stock. Maybe with the release they all sold out. Just glad it's released and I got a great price ($229). I'd originally ordered on Amazon (wife got it for me for Christmas) but when someone posted two super coupons on this forum I switched my order. The incorrect "Out of Stock" message when buying a Squeezebox Touch from US and Canada Logitech.com web sites has been fixed. As I suspected, it's a computer glitch. Took a few hours to get it resolved. I've not been able to help out with the Out of Stock message on the European Logitech.com web sites. They're asleep right now, and I'll get in touch with them to straighten it out. Hopefully it will be straightened out tomorrow.
