[Bug 537970] Re: Evince does not print images in some pdf files.
Till, I'm afraid I don't understand you. I already attached the file to Launchpad comment #19 (linked both in the comment and in the attachment list in the upper right hand side as "The file, that Evince prints w/o image") and in #19 I wrote that the PDF prints correctly using lpr. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537970 Title: Evince does not print images in some pdf files. [Bug 759627] Re: unity overlaps virtualbox on fullscreen
I vote for raising the priority. This is the single one issue that makes me want to switch away from Unity, and I have even started looking at alternatives to Ubuntu to get rid of this. The issue got even worse with 12.04 since both the "windows" key and alt key overlays the full screen virtual machine. The only way to avoid getting eht overlay is by holding the win/alt key down for a longer time. This means it is impossible to quickly flip between windows in the virtual box machine! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759627 Title: unity overlaps virtualbox on fullscreen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/759627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 994575] Re: dnsmasq does not update nameserver info after network change
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1003842 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003842 Brian Marks wrote: > Yes, tried restarting network-manager but used UI 'enable > networking' checkmark to disable and re-enable. Would this be > consistent with using command line to restart service? Using the indicator to dis-"Enable Networking" and re-"Enable Networking" does not restart the NetworkManager daemon, which is necessary for changes to /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf to become effective. You have to open a Terminal and do "sudo restart network-manager" or reboot. > I have reviewed the resolv.conf file before and after connecting and the > problem appears to be that the VPN DNS servers are not getting added to > the file although search domains are getting added. Well, when NM is in "dns=dnsmasq" mode you will only see "nameserver 127.0.0.1" in /etc/resolv.conf. No further addresses will be added there. The addresses of the upstream nameservers including the VPN ones should appear in /var/run/nm-dns-dnsmasq.conf instead. If you comment out "dns=dnsmasq" in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and restart network-manager then up to three upstream nameserver addresses will be included directly in /etc/resolv.conf and there will be no /var/run/nm-dns-dnsmasq.conf file. If, in either case, you don't see your VPN nameserver addresses in the appropriate file then there is something wrong with, e.g., your DHCP server configuration, DHCP client, But I suspect that you have also hit #1003842 and that you will find that everything works after you restart network-manager with "dns=dnsmasq" commented out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994575 Title: dnsmasq does not update nameserver info after network change To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/994575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1010504] Re: package tftpd-hpa 5.2-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1010891 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010891 I don't believe it's an exact duplicate. I received the same error msg described above. Ensuring the TFTP_DIRECTORY existed did not fix the problem. To diagnose it further, I examined file /var/lib/dpkg/info/tftpd-hpa.postrm On or about line 22 I deleted the --quiet so it now reads: deluser --system ${TFTP_USERNAME} Now when I try to remove the tftpd-hpa package, the error dump includes "The user `nobody' is not a system user. Exiting. " This suggests that the postrm script is erroneously trying to remove the 'nobody' user, which is what I had set TFTP_USERNAME to in the tftpd-hpa config file. I next commented out the "deluser ..." line. [Bug 1013496] [NEW] evince print quality (no antialiasing?)
Public bug reported: Hello there, yesterday I created an example file with lilypond. It generates a high- quality .pdf file that I have attached to this bug. When printed with evince (evince 3.4.0-0ubuntu1) the quality decreases drastically. It looks like evince removes the nicely done antialiasing that you can see on screen. The problem becomes obvious when looking at the crescendo, decrescendo hairpins. When printed with ghostview (gv) the result is somewhat better (even it does not do antialiasing on screen). I get a very good result when printing the file with Adobe Reader 9.5.1 or Foxit pdf reader (foxitreader:i386 1.1-0). Everything is done on Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bits). Besides the obvious suggestion to use Foxit instead of Evince, do you have any idea how to fix this? [Bug 1013171] Re: Many package hooks not ported to python3
This patch should be the bulk of porting firefox' package hook, and should also apply (at least in spirit) to thunderbird's : http://paste.ubuntu.com/1040952/ . [Bug 1013171] Re: Many package hooks not ported to python3
Reproducer: sudo apt-get install --reinstall python3 The actual bug is that apport ships a file /usr/share/python3/runtime.d/apport.rtupdate . This is not supposed to be there (autogenerated by dh_python3, I assume), and is just plain wrong. I'll remove it. This will leave the remaining tasks open, but will stop breaking upgrades and thus be a lot less urgent. ** Also affects: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Quantal) Milestone: None => quantal-alpha-2 ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu Quantal) Assignee: (unassigned) => Martin Pitt (pitti) ** Changed in: apport-symptoms (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Critical => Medium ** Changed in: apport-symptoms (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: Confirmed => In Progress ** Changed in: apport-symptoms (Ubuntu Quantal) Assignee: (unassigned) => Martin Pitt (pitti) ** Changed in: dkms (Ubuntu Quantal) Importance: Critical => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013171 Title: Many package hooks not ported to python3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1013171/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1013486] [NEW] libasound2-plugins has broken jack1 dependencies
Public bug reported: The "libasound2-plugins" package includes a JACK plugin, which allows the user to route audio to and from JACK in applications that use the ALSA API. This plugin works with either the JACK 1 daemon (which uses the "libjack0" package as its client library) or the JACK 2 daemon (which uses "libjack-jackd2-0"). However, the dependencies are only satisfied by JACK 2. The depends line for libasound2-plugins is as follows: Depends: libasound2 (>= 1.0.25), libc6 (>= 2.15), libjack-jackd2-0 (>= 1.9.5~dfsg-14) | libjack-0.116, libpulse0 (>= 1:0.99.1), libsamplerate0 (>= 0.1.7), libspeexdsp1 (>= 1.2~beta3.2-1) but there is no libjack-0.116 to satisfy this dependency. This package should depend on either libjack-jackd2-0 or libjack0. Incidentally, the ia32-libs-multiarch package depends on this package for some reason. These ALSA plugins are entirely optional, and would not be required for most users, so I don't think there's any need to have ia32-libs-multiarch depend on them. ** Affects: alsa-plugins (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: packaging -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013486 Title: libasound2-plugins has broken jack1 dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-plugins/+bug/1013486/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 306088] Re: Flash exits full screen moments after entering it
Just to update, this is still happening for me on Ubuntu 12.04 running a Radeon card. Also affects vimeo.com videos. The annoying thing is I cant seem to uncheck the "enable hardware acceleration" button on the Flash's setting panel since it seems to ignore any type of mouse input. I can tab through the different options, but I just cant do anything to uncheck that box via keyboard or mouse... perhaps this is another related bug. Anyway, scenario is the same as above. I have "click to focus" turned off which seems to be the problem. Turn that back on and the videos stay full screen. But changing the "focus prevention level" does not seem to do anything for me. If I am really persistent at pushing the fullscreen button on these videos, it will actually _sometimes_ work. For some videos, I'll have to try a few times and it'll work, for other videos, no amount of repeated fullscreen button mashing does the trick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306088 Title: Flash exits full screen moments after entering it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/306088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1013471]
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it.
