[Bug 241736] Re: support EPUB format

2013-11-23 Thread Ferk
That's awesome! Thank you Corbin, this is great news.
I really thought this feature was never gonna make it, it has been more than 6
years!

[Bug 385072] Re: Please replace the existing wtf acronyms file with the list from the GTF

2010-03-19 Thread Ferk
I think this list would be a nice addition.. most extensions and
acronyms I tried in wtf didn't worked, which makes this program pretty
useless.

[Bug 172416] Re: eog determines image type from filename

2010-01-09 Thread Ferk
By the way, this bug is from 2007 any news on this?

I'm sure it wouldn't be so hard to change.. it already automatically
detects the filetype when you open an image without extension.

[Bug 172416] Re: eog determines image type from filename

2010-01-09 Thread Ferk
I've been wanting this too.
It would be nice if the program alerted the user of the incorrect extension for
the filename and suggested the automatic rename of it.

[Bug 382703] Re: "Home Folder" has 3 different names

2009-11-24 Thread Ferk
The "username" idea is not practical.

What if you want to give instructions to teach your friend?
How would you tell him to go to his home folder?

- Go to Places then "Mike".

What if the vendor who installed the system to him chose some generic
username to him? what if instead of "Mike" he put "Michael"? There won't
be a consistent way to call it, how would he call it when he doesn't
know that it's the "home" folder? he will call it "Mike's" folder? kinda
weird.

We need a generic name for the folder so that it can be referred in a generic
sense without knowing the username of the specific user account.
I vote for "User Home", or if you don't like white spaces call it "Userhome"
(Username is also lacking the whitespace, isn't it?).

[Bug 193593] Re: Audacity effects missing

2009-10-06 Thread Ferk
This doesn't work on Jaunty and doesn't work on last revisions of Karmic either.
Why is it still marked as "Fix Released"?

Audacity is a very important program for anyone who wants to do some
audio editing, it's almost the only alternative for saving in a multi-
channel audio format, but it's not possible to save any file as .AUP
without the soundtouch-enabled build.

I second teledyn: is there no backport? Audacity new version is pretty
much useless for many people if it can't save multi-channel projects or
do some of the most basic effects.

[Bug 160938] Re: Ubuntu Theme for small screens

2009-09-23 Thread Ferk
Really, some applications waste a lot of space in toolbars, menubars,
etc. Being really uncomfortable for small laptops.

This is specially relevant in multimedia applications, like Totem. Such
applications should have more space for the multimedia content and less
for the toolbars.

[Bug 136702] Re: nautilus 'replace file' dialog box could give more information

2009-06-17 Thread Ferk
I have to agree with the previous posts.
I think that this is an merely an usability and design issue (it makes
replacing only the older files painful) about an existing feature (the dialog
for replacing a file), it's not an entire new feature itself.

Which is exactly what papercuts are about (they even mention nautilus,
and file-copying as examples). I couldn't think of an usability issue
more suited than this one to be fixed for 100papercuts.

And kenden is totally right about upstream discussion.

[Bug 316252] Re: Unable to retrieve MSN Address Book

2009-01-12 Thread Ferk
It is valid!

>From rekkanoryo (Pidgin developed):

We initially thought this was a server-side issue; now we know it is a
server-side change that requires the client to send additional data that
we do not currently send. It's outlined here
(http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=19141). We are
currently working on a fix.

[Bug 294843] [NEW] sawfish does not start (Ubuntu 64bits)

2008-11-06 Thread Ferk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sawfish

I'm running intrepid 64bits version

After a clean install, I installed the sawfish window manager via aptitude.
Then, I killed metacity and executed sawfish.
I've done this flawlessly in the 32 bits version of intrepid, but in 64bits I
get this output..

error--> (file-error "No such file or directory" "sawfish/wm/misc")

And then the program exits, without running the window manager.

** Affects: sawfish (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Crash here too.
The ZSNES version that Tanath links works good... I think it is important to
update the package to this version, as the current one is not working at all.
