This error is happening to me too, however I'm not running Ubuntu but Raspberry 
Pi OS (Debian 12 Bookworm); also with Longhorn.
Given that Ubuntu is based on Debian it might possibly be an issue within 
Debian.

I was able to install 64-bit winbind on Mint 18 but not 32-bit.

I can't reproduce the block. But a double-click on the birthday calendar
on the right and afterwards a double click on a date creates the message
"birthday calender is a protected calender. no new entry
possible" (something like that, in German)

After trying to use the birthday calendar once, evolution does not allow any 
new entries in no other calender  telling me that the birthday calendar is a 
write-protected calendar. I can't change anything anymore! What can I do, how 
could I delete this calendar?
