[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
I added the options: Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP-0" Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP-0" to the "devices" section of my /etc/X11/xorg.conf and it seems to have fixed it - even with the current xfce4-settings installed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1358936] [NEW] Garbled Graphics on Intel X4500
Public bug reported: I have been having an issue with garbled graphics on an ASUS K50IJ Laptop with Intel GMA X4500 integrated graphics. It is a difficult bug to recreate in a timely fashion as it requires you to be on the system for a decent amount of time (like an hour, sometimes less). Usage scenario to recreate this bug: would be to gradually build up to 10 Firefox or Google Chrome tabs. Minimize the applications, Open a 4000x3000 pixel photo in GIMP, do some editing. After using the computer for a while, go to the launcher and click Firefox or Chrome. Close Firefox or Chrome and then close GIMP. Firefox will take a while to close and while the hard drive is loading, the screen will suddenly become garbled. I've been a user of Ubuntu since version 6.06 (Dapper Drake) and have been using it exclusively on this laptop since version 12.04. I have not had this issue until 14.04. The temporary workaround is to log out and log back in, after which the graphics are back to normal. I also checked to see if it was a memory issue but System Monitor does not appear to display such an issue. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1355196] Re: compiz fails with intel_do_flush_locked failed: Invalid argument
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 regression reproducible ubuntu ** Description changed: Recent upgrade and reboot/re-login left me with a generally unusable compiz/unity. On login, the desktop icons move back and forth several times, I believe this correlates with ~/.xesssion-errors 'unity main process ended' messages like: upstart: unity7 main process (7477) terminated with status 1 upstart: unity7 main process ended, respawning upstart: unity7 main process (7910) terminated with status 1 upstart: unity7 main process ended, respawning upstart: unity7 main process (7939) terminated with status 1 Further investigation showed that compiz was failing to start. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1286951] Re: blank screen while booting
I'm having the same problem using the nvidia-331.38-updates driver. I followed your workaround on the BIOS, but the problems is still there. I see a purple border around one of my screens, and then it's just blank with a blinking cursor. I don't have encryption, so I just went straight into the log-in window. Before installing the nvidia propietary drivers, the log-in screen was great, where I could see the Ubuntu log on all my screens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1286951 Title: blank screen while booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1286951/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
