[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1324113] Re: Screen goes black or flashes with Dual Monitors when certain apps are opened.
Sorry it took so long but I had to reinstall due to an unrelated problem. The reinstall didn't make any difference to this problem though. I also tested Windows 8 with dual screens, just to rule out the monitor(s) and it worked fine in Windows 8. I tried the daily image on a Live USB and that worked fine too, no problem at all even when opening and running programs that always seemed to cause this problem, i.e. System Settings, Totem Video Player et al. Dual monitors worked flawlessly. I will try and free up some disk space and install the live image onto a disk and test it that way too just to be sure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324113 Title: Screen goes black or flashes with Dual Monitors when certain apps are opened. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1428184] [NEW] Invisible mouse pointer after resume from suspend
Public bug reported: I'm using a fresh install of Xubuntu 14.04 (Description: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS \ Release: 14.04) with latest updates on a Samsung NP305U1A-A05CO laptop (AMD E450 with Radeon HD 6320 Graphics) After the computer is suspended, either by closing the lid, choosing the option on the menu or by itself after the defined time, and then when I wake the computer the mouse pointer is invisible, however the hardware itself is working as mouse position and clicks continue working, only the pointer is invisible. If I switch to a console with Alt+Shit+F1 and switch back to X with Alt+Shift+F7 the mouse pointer appears and is back to normal. After installing fglrx 14.50.2 proprietary AMD driver (doing the modification explained in http://askubuntu.com/a/543836/378463 to avoid ocl-icd-libopencl1/wine conflict) including the Catalyst Control Center, the problem is resolved and now I can suspend and resume the computer and the mouse pointer is visible after wake up as expected. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 939950] Re: Dual head failing with Radeon [workaround]
Is this bug also relevant for a dual card setup? I have two HD6570 cards rather than just one, so my 2nd monitor appears as monitor 3 in the AMD control centre. When I open the AMD Catalyst Catalyst Control Center (Administrative), enable the 3rd monitor, reboot, and it's not saved the setting and the monitor is still disabled. This all works fine on 12.04: I did a clean install yesterday to verify. The open source drivers work, to a fashion. But they are so buggy and laggy that they're barely usable. I'd prefer to use OSS drivers, but not the ones we have presently., but that's a different issue... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939950 Title: Dual head failing with Radeon [workaround] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/939950/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
