[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1783987] Re: German Neo2 Problem with Xubuntu 18.04 (try out mode)

Fine, thanks for that.

As I use Neo 2 exclusively – no other keyboard layouts – there should be
no further problems once the choice has been made.

GLX does causes "okular menu buttons not clickable and Firefox open menu button

Select OpenGL interface EGL.
OR select XRender.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1784176] Re: Many bugs, most may be my fault

2018-07-29 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1762536] Re: double tap on touchpad isn't recognized as double click on ubuntu 18.04 bionic

2018-07-29 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Yes, this bug is marked as fixed in Ubuntu 18.10 only. You can tell the
fix is missing from 18.04 partly by the "Nominated for Bionic" message
at the top.

To get the same fix in Ubuntu 18.04 it's probably helpful to watch bug
1767559.

** Summary changed:

+ after waking from sleep i get text radeon error message then return login
screen (18.04 & 18.10)

** Description changed:

+ // this bug was reported for 18.04.
+ // I had just had it occur (first time) on 18.10
+ // new details will be comment @ end
+
my box is 18.04 (was 17.10 installed; standard Ubuntu with MATE & XFCE
  desktops added)

I sleep my XFCE (xubuntu) machine rather than turning it off at night.

Today as with yesterday morning, instead of getting the locker-screen
after hitting the power-button to wake my machine, i get a blank screen
with a RADEON two-line text message top left on screen which appear only
momentarily as screen is erased and I get the login/greeter screen.

(it's happened 4-5 times, but does NOT happen every time)

I can login fine, but my xfce session is new.

I have grep'd for the message I see (yesterday & today), but can't find
it as i usually recall little but the radeon word...

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1783987] Re: German Neo2 Problem with Xubuntu 18.04 (try out mode)

2018-07-29 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
There is no reason to expect anything else. A live session and a fully
installed system should behave identically in this respect. My own
testing was on a fully installed Ubuntu 18.04.

the start of the detection problems.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1784240] Re: Driver doesn't correctly probe Samsung U28D590D 28-inch 4k after recent update

2018-07-29 Thread ppanon
This log shows that the probing detects the high resolution modes
[ 111.418] (II) AMDGPU(0): Printing probed modes for output DisplayPort-0
[ 111.418] (II) AMDGPU(0): Modeline "3840x2160"x60.0 533.25 3840 3888 3920
4000 2160 2163 2168 +hsync -vsync (133.3 kHz eP)
[ 111.418] (II) AMDGPU(0): Modeline "3840x2160"x30.0 297.00 3840 4016 4104
4400 2160 2168 2178 2250 +hsync +vsync (67.5 kHz e)

but doesn't appear to determine anything via DDC on the displayport.
Again this doesn't seem to have been an issue until the driver updates
applied on the 23rd (dpkg.log in separate attachment),

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1783987] Re: German Neo2 Problem with Xubuntu 18.04 (try out mode)

2018-07-29 Thread Krino Hoogestraat
Gunnar:
Can you please make sure that NumLock is turned off when switching to Neo 2 and
let us know if that helps.

***

I tried that, and as you predicted, with NumLock turned off, the Neo 2
keyboard behaves normally.

Does that mean I can go ahead and install 18.04, and everything will be
fine?
