[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 389519] Re: Cursor can move off-screen when dual-monitors do not form rectangular area
I'm from the second camp too! It is quite annoying to me when my cursor gets lost off-screen. However, as it currently stands, the cursor CAN move "in and out of the area not covered by either monitor". I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, and I apologize for implying that this was introduced in karmic. I am still learning. Are you saying that the expected behavior is that the cursor IS kept inside of both screens? If so, I think my bug is valid. Please correct me if I am wrong. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 398278] [NEW] After ctrl-alt-f1 then ctrl-alt-f7 virtual console remains on inactive display
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I am using a laptop hooked to an external monitor. The laptop display is "off" in display preferences, and is off when logging in. However, when I switch to a virtual console (ctrl-alt-f1) both displays are used. Then I switch back (ctrl-alt-f7) and a static image of the virtual console is left on the laptop display. Also, current cursor image is shown on the laptop monitor, but does not move around. If I switch back using ctrl- alt-f1, both displays are again used for the virtual console. To create this bug, I switch my monitors (1280x800 and 1680x1050) to mirrored 1024x768 in order to start compiz. (If I attempt to start compiz while running both monitors at their native resolution, it says "Desktop effects could not be enabled". I turn on desktop effects, then switch the monitors to their optimal resolutions. After I do that, a region of the screen on the right side is not drawn correctly, as you can see in the screenshot. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 389519] [NEW] [karmic] Cursor can move off-screen when dual-monitors do not form rectangular area
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release:9.10 xorg: Installed: 1:7.4~5ubuntu21 Candidate: 1:7.4~5ubuntu21 Version table: *** 1:7.4~5ubuntu21 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Basically, when I use two monitors with different sizes (1280x800 and 1680x1050), X creates a rectangular bounding box for the cursor, so in effect it can move offscreen.
