[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 661910] Re: Kwin compositing problem on maverick
Ok it seems to resolve the problems with xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.13.901-2ubuntu2~xup~maverick. But note that with bleeding edge intel-driver from ppa:glasen/intel-driver (2:2.14~glasen~maverick~ppa6), there is still graphics problem with emacs : the cursor takes the shape of the letters (with 'space' character the cursor disappear) !? (and have other refresh problems) And when I disable compositing effects, this problem disappear. I hope this bug will not reappear on a future stable release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661910 Title: Kwin compositing problem on maverick ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 661910] [NEW] Kwin compositing problem on maverick
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I've got some issues that seems related to the Bug "#630580" (marked "Fix released") under kubuntu 10.10. With my integrated Intel Chips i915 (core i7 on a sony vaio VPCZ11), compositing is disabled when kwin start. When I enable it, some screen refresh problems occur. Indeed, I regularly see some artifacts under emacs or Yakuake (certainly with other apps, don't have check yet): when I play with my text buffers (select text, remove text, move up and down, etc.), the windows do not refresh correctly, some text that should not be displayed persist on the screen. It looks like the framebuffer got corrupted. With kubuntu 10.04 there was no problem (and also with a kernel 2.6.35.7). So there is a regression somewhere. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Kwin compositing problem on maverick https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
