Today I noticed that this problems does not happen at the login screen.
While in the login screen the enable/disable button works properly.

In my hp laptop there is a small button that enables/disables touchpad. It was 
working well until I upgraded to lucid. Now if I press that button i cannot 
write anymore in any window.
To be able to write again I have to drop to a console with ctrl-alt-f1 and then 
come back with alt f7.
