[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1780039] [NEW] Upgrade libegl1 to 1.0.0+git20180308-3ubuntu1 present in Cosmic
Public bug reported: Currently Bionic contains 1.0.0-2ubuntu2 version of libegl1. There is a bug in libEGL.so.1 due to which a Khronos CTS failure happens on ARM platform. Cosmic has already upgraded to 1.0.0+git20180308-3ubuntu1 version of libegl1 where this bug is fixed. Details of fix in liglvnd-EGL code: https://github.com/NVIDIA/libglvnd/issues/151 Failing Khronos CTS test: dEQP-EGL.functional.negative_api.make_current, which runs in bot OpenGL and OpenGL-ES CTS runs. Without above test passing, we can't submit logs to Khronos for the CTS run. Filing this bug to get libegl1 upgraded to cosmic's version in bionic repos. We've verified locally on ARM platform, there are no issues present due to this upgrade. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1687981] Re: Backport packages for 16.04.3 HWE stack
About Vulkan package: Vulkan loader (libvulkan) has moved to newer version and that is needed to make use of all the recently proposed vulkan extensions in the application. The main application that doesn't work currently is with Vulkan CTS: https://github.com/KhronosGroup/VK-GL-CTS Vulkan CTS passing is required for a device to be called as Vulkan compatible. We support only LTS releases on our devices so need latest version on 16.04. Can you please upgrade the libvulkan.so version to 1.0.42 for Xenial? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312756] Re: support graphics card hot switch
OSX has enabled a new feature (recently introduced with its new Core i5 laptops), that allow the system to switch between integrated and discrete graphics _on the fly_. Note that this is not something that is supported by specific hardware, but instead is something that the operating system does : http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2010/04/inside-apples-automatic-gpu- switching.ars Such a feature allows for significantly increased battery time and since is done totally in software, would be a great addition to Linux. -- support graphics card hot switch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 510004] Re: [lucid regression] random graphics effects after resume from suspend to RAM
I have the same issue with an XPS 1210 (with an nvidia 7400 card). Interestingly, I have no nvidia drivers installed and nor do I have compositing/effects enabled. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 479878] [NEW] (Karmic) Need an option to disable touchpad completely
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics In Jaunty, I could disable the touchpad completely, however this functionality has been removed in Karmic. Allow me to explain why this important: In the normal course of typing, one tends to stop for a few seconds with the palms, still on the keyboard. At this time, there are very high chances of you triggering the touchpad. The same problem appears in gaming on laptops, where one can inadvertently trigger the touchpad (while one is not typing anything) "Disable while typing" is good - but we need a "disable completely" key as well. Maybe when the mouse is removed, the touchpad is re-activated or something. In any case alt-f2 and gnome-mouse-config can be used to reactivate your touchpad. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- (Karmic) Need an option to disable touchpad completely https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479878 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 307306 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/307306 Hi All, I was facing the same issue with my Laptop Compaq - AMD-Athlon-X2 -QL-64, Nvidia 8200, 3GRam. I am running Ubuntu using Wubi. "top" used to give Xorg as 100% of one of the cores if you move a window it simply shot up, and the other windows used to appear with a "curtain" effect!!. Anyhoos, was able to solve it as below I guess the problem was with the NVidia Drivers download the latest NVIDIA drivers from the Nvidia site(http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/linux_display_amd64_185.18.31_uk.html .. please choose your video card details etc). restart using safe mode and select the root display and run the command sh NVIDIA... should be working fine after this. and yes do not forget to update the system using the update manager...
