apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected trusty ** Description changed: fresh install on Q35 intel (amd64) motherboard hangs with launch of intel Xorg. Mythbuntu/Ubuntu 14.04 iso boots are identical. Setting nomodeset causes no improvement (nor does acpi tags). A mini.iso install of 14.04 works fine with no extra kernel parameters. After installation, tasksel to install mythbuntu frontend completes successfully. Rebooting exhibits identical behavior when Xorg tries to launch. If I put in nomodeset, X launches OK, but I'm stuck at 800x600. 10.04 works fine. Attached is 10.04 dmesg and xorg log. I appreciate the form letter for the report. :S I attempted to run this on 10.04 and I get the following error: The requested URL /+request-token was not found on this server My guess is lucid is locked out due to lack of support... I can run this on the 14.04 text based install, but that's not going to show you the difference. What do you want me to do? I know when I looked at upgrading this a year ago, there was still some problems with intel and HDA audio, so I just figued I'd wait for the next LTS release.
