[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 726911] [NEW] [i865] GPU lockup 261cbc4c (IPEHR: 0x02000011)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel The system login just fine but artifacts in display would soon be shown when you access the Application menu (using Gnome Panel). Sometimes the screen would just go blank for a few seconds and come back to live, but the text, Windows decorations, and sometimes the whole panel would be darkened or simply gone. The whole desktop would become very sluggish. When the system freezes, it would come up with an error from apport-gpu- error-intel.py which needs to be reported. This happens to driver version 2.14 and it comes no matter using xorg- edgers ppa or the normal repo from Natty. Only solution: uninstall intel driver and use vesa. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 405129] [NEW] X segfaults with startkde (intel 865G)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I compile KDE trunk myself and also use xorg-eders PPA. It seems the latest xorg from the PPA crashes with the startkde script from KDE trunk. It segfaults and refuses to display anything. My machine is using the old 865G and it seems quite problematic. Steps to reproduce: 1. compile KDE using kdesvn-build script, and follow the "Solitary KDE 4 session" from this page to start KDE in its own X session: http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Set_up_KDE_4_for_development 2. Upon entering the command "startkde", X segfaults. lspci -nn | grep VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2572] (rev 02) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Jul 27 12:05:38 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 MachineType: IBM 817513B Package: xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu5 ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-4-generic root=UUID=7b8e08c6-0dde-4e60-96e1-59c900a2ca03 ro quiet splash nomodeset ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=zh_HK.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=zh_HK.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-4.22-generic RelatedPackageVersions: xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu5 libgl1-mesa-glx 7.6.0~git20090723.3b4235d4-0ubuntu0sarvatt libdrm2 2.4.12+git20090717.9aed44be-0ubuntu0sarvatt xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.8.0+git20090724.9a45ace2-0ubuntu0sarvatt xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.12.99+git20090725.57f2c83a-0ubuntu0sarvatt SourcePackage: xorg Uname: Linux 2.6.31-4-generic i686 dmi.bios.date: 10/26/2004 dmi.bios.vendor: IBM dmi.bios.version: 2CKT20AUS dmi.board.name: D865GKD dmi.board.vendor: Intel dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Tag 567890123456789012345 dmi.chassis.type: 6 dmi.chassis.vendor: IBM dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnIBM:bvr2CKT20AUS:bd10/26/2004:svnIBM:pn817513B:pvrThinkCentre:rvnIntel:rnD865GKD:rvr:cvnIBM:ct6:cvr: dmi.product.name: 817513B dmi.product.version: ThinkCentre dmi.sys.vendor: IBM fglrx: Not loaded system: distro: Ubuntu architecture: i686kernel: 2.6.31-4-generic ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- X segfaults with startkde (intel 865G) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405129 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
