[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 682986] Re: borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed
this is using the 11.04 pre alpha and i wasn't sure what to put down on this through using ubuntu-bug and as i stated all i have to do is change setting in compiz or change the themes through the appearance preferencesome times it keeps working for a while but most of the time it just messes upall of the other versions of ubuntu doesn't do this which is what tells me it is some sort of bug dealing with 11.04 and how it works with gnome, unity, and compiz also this happens on both the classic desktop choice and the default desktop -- borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 682986] [NEW] borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg im not sure exactly whats wrong but it seems to be dealing with gnome, unity, and compiz...where no matter the kind of appearance change i do ether by using the compiz settings manger or the appearance preference. The borders end up disappearing along with the panels, which also makes it were your limited in what you can do until you log out and then log back in also i could not report it while the borders and panels are missing for some reason and if i didnt have Avant Window Navigator i would have had to do a hard reboot. also i did manually install the nvidia driver but i ended up removing it and installing through the Additional Drivers ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3b1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.37-7.18-generic 2.6.37-rc3 Uname: Linux 2.6.37-7-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 260.19.21 Thu Nov 4 21:16:27 PDT 2010 GCC version: gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.1-10ubuntu3) Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Nov 29 23:43:16 2010 DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 260.19.21, 2.6.37-7-generic, x86_64: installed bcmwl, 5.60.246.2+bdcom, 2.6.37-6-generic, x86_64: installed bcmwl, 5.60.246.2+bdcom, 2.6.37-7-generic, x86_64: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Alpha amd64+mac (20101129) Lsusb: Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.37-7-generic root=UUID=92ac727f-c990-419d-aa2b-98906f12eb02 ro quiet splash SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display dmi.bios.date: 03/03/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.32 dmi.board.name: 30CF dmi.board.vendor: Quanta dmi.board.version: 85.26 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Quanta dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.32:bd03/03/2009:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPPaviliondv6500NotebookPC:pvrRev1:rvnQuanta:rn30CF:rvr85.26:cvnQuanta:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC dmi.product.version: Rev 1 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard glxinfo: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory system: distro: Ubuntu codename: natty architecture: x86_64 kernel: 2.6.37-7-generic ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty possible-manual-nvidia-install -- borders and panels disappears whenever appearance is changed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
