Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Where is squeezeplay for xubuntu

2011-12-19 Thread wowo

Thanks Lauret, with the help of the link
http://www.jfwhome.com/2009/11/22/co...-ubuntu-amd64/ I have made
Squeezeplay working on Ubuntu 10.10.

Unfortunately I can Squeezeplay use only as remote for my other players
(Squeezebox Touch/Radio/Classic).
If I want to use Squeezeplay as audioplayer on my laptop, I could not
get any sound.
@Lauret have you sound working with PulseAudio ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Linux alternative to SqueezePlay?

2011-12-19 Thread brjhaverkamp

I can confirm that squeezeplay works perfectly when pulsaudio is
disabled.
(for which I simply did an apt-get remove pulseaudio) ABBA is now
playing happily. (no discussions on my taste please. Its simply the
first artist under "A":-)
Question now is how to fix the pulseaudio interworking.

On my squeezeslave problems, I see random behaviour. My sound device
should be sharable, its a plughw device. But sometimes it is not
listed, sometimes it is. Sometimes when I start squeezeplay first,
mythtv refuses to produce sound, but when I start mythtv first,
squeezeplay is working fine.
I have to play a bit more with it to make sense of it all. But
theoretically this might one day work;-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Netgear ReadyNas Duo version 2

2011-12-19 Thread Pascal Hibon

The Duo v2 doesn't list SqueezeCenter as an option for streaming
devices.
It also has an ARM processor (instead of a Sparc). I suspect that
Netgear won't have any intention to have the v2 Squeezebox enabled.
http://www.readynas.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/ReadyNAS_Comparison_Home.pdf

If I were you I would post on the ReadyNAS forum and ask that same
question.

And if you get the chance to sell the Duo v2 and buy the ULTRA 2
instead I would certainly do that. The ULTRA series have a powerful x86
processor.

Not yet, as I don't think we've yet received any sample hardware.

If it's one of the all new ARM based devices, then no. They promised us to
send us some hardware, but according to our contact they haven't been able
to get a hold of one yet themselves...

[SlimDevices: Unix] Netgear ReadyNas Duo version 2

2011-12-19 Thread stefan.hadobas

Hi,

My question is: Is the Netgear Duo Ready Nas version 2 supported or
not?
If yes which distribution of the Squeezebox Media Server has to be
downloaded and work on the Netgear ReadyNas Duo version 2. I have got
just an ordinary Netgear ReadyNas Duo. I don't beleive that the SMS for
the old one can be installed on the new device.

Thank you,

Best Regards,
Stefan

I believe the build server was configured wrong for the squeezeplay
.deb package when going from 7.6 to 7.7. This has already been fixed
and you can find the non-functioning package here:
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.7. If you want a
functioning squeezeplay on linux, you have to build it yourself:

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlay_Build_Instructions

-
