Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer on Pi : problem to access remote NFS drive
No, in the mount section. You could ssh in and check it out too. Ive heard of exfat problems before. Native Linux file system is always best for an attached disk. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer and pi 1B
Downloaded and installed piCorePlayer 7.0.0 And it all works perfectly Thanks again P.S - A contentious point... I just thought that the Pi B (headless on ethernet) sounds than the Pi 3B that was there. The B is using the same PSU (standard/official Pi 3B) but the 3B had a 7" screen and 2.5" HD - so used a lot more power ? Thanks for your urgent reply. Do you mean this? I've tried both 775 and 777, didn't work. 34638 +---+ |Filename: 4 (2).jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34638| +---+ yuxbax's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=60854 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109402 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Likely a permission issue. THere is a bUtton below The mounts to try to set permissions, but Im not sure that works for exfat. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. It's an age thing :(, I'm glad the old ring is still there, I don't bother so much with the "new" Moto GP, I enjoyed very much the old "500" racing and used to visit a lot of tracks when I lived / worked in Holland. Nowadays I much prefer Britsh Superbikes, it's more competative imo. Linky here for Material Skin info, you also need the Music and Artist information Plugin. https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114532 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Isn't Salzburgring better known for Motorbikes and Oldtimer-Racings? LMS is installed on SDCard, so i continue shutting down the device via pCP as you recommended. That the pi is still powered when shut down is interesting, because the attached SSD cools down and draws no current. Regarding powersupply I already contacted Allo directly. Leaving the pi powered up 24/7 is not a problem cause the device itself stays cool, but the SSD is and remains a little above lukewarm, I'd say, so nothing I'd worry about. Configured Tidal on LMS (trial subscription) and to my surprise it works very nice. @Elmar.F Glad that you are sorted :) Many years ago I went to the old Salzburg Ring for a Moto GP, top venue :) (not so keen on it now though:() I have seen the warning before, when using Windows to connect via SSH, I just ignored it and went back to Putty I mostly use Putty (you just get a warning sign and you can click through) and today found this https://itsfoss.com/putty-linux/ so will give that a trial. You can shut down pCP as a player by just switching it off If you have LMS installed on the same card then use the shutdown box on the pCP Main Page. This page can be saved as a Browser shortcut on a smartphone. There are also apps (on Android) which allow one to configure a ssh link to shutdown by command line. If you use the Material Skin Plugin on a phone you can also access the same page Remember that when the pi is shutdown it is still powered and has to be replugged to start I would better ask Allo about the Boss power connections It won't hurt leaving the pi powered up 27/7 if you are happy to do so. ronnie When you are happy with your configuration make a back-up of the sd card :):) Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114532 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Ubuntu and picoreplayer samba
@ Greg Erskine & @v2k : Thanks for your replies, though I don't completely understand your explanations. I think I have to dive deeper for better understanding. May I raise two topics and beg your expertise? 1) With the Allo Boss2 Player comes the Nirvana power supply with the option of single-powering and dual-powering the device. What is the dual-power option for? What are the advantages? And what is the power-switch for on the back of the Nirvana? Can I shutdown the Boss2 using the power-switch? 2) What is the best way to shutdown the Boss2? Or is it okay to leave it on 24/7 with an SSD drive attached to it. May leaving the device on reduce the durability of the SSD? And what happens to pCP when there's a blackout? Irregular shutdowns are bad for devices, that's what I know. But this was valid for my Synology NAS as well and I never bothered until now I got the Boss2 running. -Elmar Elmar.F's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71739 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114532 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
