Picoreplayer supports nbd-client, but not nbd-server. I wonder if it is possible to build a nbd-server tzc package for picoreplayer (if it exists for Tiny Core Linux). Has anyone ever tried this? papaiannis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55671 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

papaiannis wrote: > Is there a way to share the CD drive on the raspberry so that it can be > accessed by the Cdplayer plugin on the remote server? The CDplayer plugin relies on cdda2wav which can only deal with a CD drive on the same system. cdda2wav "talks" to hardware device /dev/cdrom with lots of h/w specific control such as "is door open" and cannot use a mountable file system. So any solution to share CD drive has to be based on totally different CD control application. Starting point would be to find any Linux s/w which can remotely access and play audio CD drive. Simplest but not "integrated" way would be to run two LMS servers. A minimal one in the PCP with CD drive and having it just serve CDs. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cdplayer plugin in picoreplayer player for RPi3
I am a very happy user of picoreplayer. Recently I started using the Cdplayer plugin and I really enjoy it, especially for its responsiveness (one or two seconds) and the possibility to read the titles and duration of all the tracks. Now I am going to move the Logitech Media Server to a separate server. As a consequence, the Cdplayer plugin running on the separate server will not be able to access the CD drive plugged into the raspberry pi. I tried installing the samba server on picoreplayer, but I didn't succeed in mounting the shared CD drive on the new server. Is there a way to share the CD drive on the raspberry so that it can be accessed by the Cdplayer plugin on the remote server? Any help will be greatly appreciated. papaiannis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55671 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

To check permission the name of the user which runs LMS is required. Then for most Linux system you can check using the "groups" command to see if user is in same groups on both 3.02 and 3.11 To check permission of the CD drive you need to know the name of the drive - often in Linux it is called "/dev/cdrom" do a "ls -l /dev/cdrom" where the letters are lowercase "LS -L /dev/cdrom" - letter L not digit 1 Compare output of the "ls" command on 3.02 and 3.11 to see if there is a difference. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

For CDplayer plugin discussion it is best to post on the CDplayer thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?47288-Announce-CDplayer-plugin/page1 The CD drive must be plugged into the server running LMS It is not clear whether you are running LMS on RPI3 or LMS on another server because of problems with LMS on RPI3. I do not know LMS picoreplayer but there are other user who have installed cdplayer on picoreplayer - if you post on the CDplayer thread you will get a better chance of a good reply rather than asking about a CDplayer Windows install on the Linux forum. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107282 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
