Re: Product option Display

Hi Akhil,
May be you missed my email, but the in the link that I suggested you is
a step by step procedure to create such products. Here is the link again:

Try to have a good knowledge of OFBiz data model which is based on
following book:
http://www.amazon.com/Data-Model-Resource-Book-Vol/dp/0471380237/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253164796&sr=1-1.
This will help you understand the business process implementation in OFBiz
better.

I am sure there might be some option in confluence to avoid such

Update Survey Response?

2009-09-16 Thread James McGill
Another question on Survey if you don't mind.

If I bring up a SurveyResponse,
content/control/FindSurveyResponse?surveyId=
And then try to edit the response,
content/control/EditSurveyResponse?surveyResponseId=Z
It looks as if submitting changes is always creating a new response, instead
of editing one in place.
This is true even if "Allow Update" = "Y".

What am I missing? It looks to me like createSurveyResponse in
SurveyServices.xml is intended to be
a "create or update" service.

Switching between CMS content using multiple publish points

2009-09-16 Thread Evan Fowler

Hi Everyone,

For my website, I have in admin multiple publish points to the same
webSiteId. Currently, when I create a new publish point, the website
will select that new publish point id as its default, and the CMS tab
will show the content of only that selected publish point to browse
through.

Is there a way in admin to actually switch between the CMS content of
other publish points you create for the same website? My goal is to
divide CMS content between those publish points so that the content
does not cause congestion under a single tree.

Thanks,

~Evan

Re: svn commit: r814553 - /ofbiz/trunk/specialpurpose/ecommerce/widget/CustomerScreens.xml

2009-09-16 Thread Jacques Le Roux

Hi Vikas,

I'm sorry but I disagree with this change. As this stage, I'd far prefer to keep the old profile wich has much more options and
looks better.

So I ask the community opinion about that.
You can still see the old profile if you run an R9.04 version or at http://ofbiz-vm.apache.org/
(http://demo904.ofbiz.org/ecommerce/control/main fails at the moment)
You can see the new provilei if you run the trunk or at http://demo.ofbiz.org/ecommerce/control/main but it fails at the moment, you
may try http://lamouline.myvnc.com:28080/ecommerce during Europe nights (GMT+2)

Thanks

http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBIZ/Guide+to+OFBiz-i18n%2C++Internationalisation+of+OFBiz

I have added a subsection talking about the Product-specific i18n stuff.

Also, check the following demo data:
{OFBIZ_HOME}/specialpurpose/ecommerce/data/DemoProductI18nData.xml

which contains an example for Product.name and Product.description in
locales EN, FR and IT. You will need to add such Entities to your upload
file. Notice my remark on naming conventions for the entity IDs; using such
will definitely make your CMS-work easier.

Also note, that only ONE locale is related to the product as ProductContent
and the other Content entities are then related to this "primary content
item" using ContentAssoc with "ALTERNATE_LOCALE" type.

Further, don't forget you need DataResource entities for each of these.
Also, you will want to add the Product.longDescription if you are using
default ecommerce layouts. Otherwise your product detail view will look a
little silly ;-)

Finally, if chinese was the only locale you need the content in, you may
probably use the above mechanisms and just not add any "ALTERNATE_LOCALE"
Content.

Feel free to comment on the document mentioned above in order to help me get
that "readable" for a wider audience :)

Thanks & regards

Carsten

Query regarding custom MRP report generation

2009-09-16 Thread Ponnulakshmi Sivakumar
Hi,

We are working on customizing Ofbiz for a make to order system. We have
modified the presentation layer to suit our needs. We now need to create a
custom MRP report. The MRP report should do the following:

- Calculate the consolidated material requirements for all the
products ordered in a sales order by exploding based on product BOM
- Show the list of purchasers and provide a easy way to raise purchase order
against the sales order

Can anyone please help us with any pointers / code / idea in this regard ?

Re: How to import Products with locale?

2009-09-16 Thread Jacques Le Roux

It's in eCommerce : DemoProductI18nData.xml

Jacques

From: "Vince Clark"
This would be a separate import from the base product records. You will need to create content records with descriptions for the
alternatve locales. I believe there are examples of this in the demo data, although I'm not sure if they are under the product or
content component.

Re: Hosting OFBiz on a single server with multiple domain names, without cloning components

2009-09-16 Thread Raj Saini

Hi Neha,

This is less related to OFBiz and more of Apache Web server. There are
various ways to front the OFbiz with Apache httpd.

1. mod_jk (old way and only way with Apache HTTPd 2.0 and below)
2. AJP Proxy with Reverse Proxy (Preferred way to integrate with HTTPd 2.2+)
3. Reverse Proxy

I have been trying to explain the AJP Proxy for HTTPd 2.2+

For this to work, there is no need to change any thing in the OFBiz. You
will need to setup your Apache HTTPd properly. I would suggest you to
search for the Apache Web Server and Tomcat Integration on web. OFBiz
integration is no different than the Tomcat.

Thanks,

Raj

Hi Neha,

With the Location, you need to pass the request to the AJP and tomcat

Re: ofbiz latest stable version

2009-09-16 Thread Carsten Schinzer
All,

talking about that, I have a related question which actually would also
explain the uncertainty that is behind the initial question of this
mail-thread:

   - How is the Release Plan document and the Main New Features document
   related?
   - When will the next official release happen?

I believe there is a main part in the project management missing if the
trunk is just left as is and anyone can do anything in order to improve the
piece they are just interested in. Is there any initiative from the
commiter's side to channel improvements on a certain component into a
release roadmap and e.g. include only functional extensions in on or a
handful of "focus" components plus bugfixes into the next "official
release"?

In simpler terms, does anyone have an idea when we will see an official
release higher than 9.04? E.g. 9.10 in October?

I know this would involve a lot of work in screening open Jira issues,
collating them into functional releases and coordination the dev community
to deliver into a previously planned release cycle. Do you guys think the
project is ready for that? (and let me know whether & where I could possibly
help).

Thanks & regards

Carsten

Yes I know that migration work is under process - lets see how much time it

In the meantime we can safely ignore or delete that user.

Re: ofbiz latest stable version

2009-09-16 Thread Mridul Pathak
Anil,
I would definitely go with Ashish's suggestion here. Releasing a stable
version doesn't means that trunk is not stable. Even the trunk is always
stable except a few incidences. Working on trunk gives you opportunity to
leverage most recent updates. For instance, you have requirements of Human
Resource component and after release 9.04 there have been many improvements
in this component, which you can facilitate by working on latest trunk.
Keeping an eye on commits and dev mailing list can help you decide when to
take updates, without breaking your custom code.

Release-9.04 is more stable and feature reach then Release-4.0.
Although if you are a developer and you understand how things are coming in
OFBiz then I would prefer you to go with trunk.

Just start your development keeping your custom component in hot-deploy

appropriate for you.

This is not the good way to to remove that user everyday.
Instead of this we should try to find some option so that we could put the
same user in the ignore user list.
I am sure there might be some option in confluence to avoid such issues.

The person who is sending this kind of information may be a real person or
it is someone who is subscribing in confluence using some scheduled program/
software that sends request for subscription in regular interval of time.

I think we can ask Atlassian to solve such kind of issues.

Re: content/control/EditSurveyResponse escaped HTML?

2009-09-16 Thread Jacques Le Roux

Thanks James,

Fixed at r815687 in trunk and r815689 in R9.04

Jacques

From: "James McGill"

content/control/EditSurveyResponse puts escaped HTML on the page instead of
the rendered survey.

applications/content/webapp/content/survey/EditSurveyResponse.ftl has
${surveyString}but
that apparently escapes the page. ${surveyString?html} just adds another
level of escaping, and
I couldn't see how to "unescape" from here.

It looks to me like there really should be a call to surveyWrapper.render()
or something like that --
or is it the intended behavior to show the HTML output instead of the
rendered survey?

Hi Anil,

The latest OFBiz release is 9.04. Release 9.04 has more features then that
of 4.0, you can find the differences at
http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBIZ/Main+New+Features. No new development
occurs in the stable releases, just bug fixes, thats why they are called
stable releases. Many people use release 4.0 and thats the reason it is
still eligible for bug fixes. All the development is done in trunk.
