Re: Tunneling between Windows computers.....

2004-11-13 Thread BPS
Thanks for your response, Jerry. Ok... so given that
I want to do something that, at the time of writing,
was considered unusual, I'm on the right track with
using OpenSSH for Windows and PuTTY?

Problem connecting

2004-11-13 Thread shawn engert
When I attempt to connect to another computer(both have VNC) I get a timed
out message. I tried to ping the other computer and came up with nothing,
so then tried to ping myself and came up with nothing. Then I realized that
my norton firewall was on so I turned if off and again tried to ping myself.
This time it worked fine, however when i try to ping the other computer I
still dont get a reply(I have also pinged the other computer and it works
fine). Why can't these two computers talk? I live in a dorm room in
college and the other computer is in my room so they are all on the same
subnet.
thank you
Shawn

Otto,

You need either to open up port 5900 in your firewall in addition to port
80, OR set the VNC Server to accept VNC connections on port 80, as well as
serving the Java Applet on this port.

Cheers,

VNC enterprise connect

2004-11-13 Thread Otto
I installed VNC enterprise trial and changed the port to 80
(same for java viewer)
i opened port 80 in my firewall for the pc which is running the server.
when i connect from another pc in my network with the viewer or browser to
the local ip address from PC which is running the server i can connect

However I can't connect via another pc in my network via my browser to my
external IP address (the page cannot be displayed)

when i try to login on my external ip address via a browser through the
proxy of my isp i get the java applet window for login but when i hit
connect i get "java.net connect exception: connection timed out: connect"
error

What is it what im doing wrong?

Thanks

For DOS mode and black screen use the key combination

Alt - Enter to switch between DOS screen and DOS Window mode.

DOS

2004-11-13 Thread Theo Rooijakkers
After installing your program and after configering it, it works with my
"client" in windows.
But triing to open a DOS exe file, I get a black screen, while the program
starts with my "client".
Is it possible to work also in Dos mode?
