They also played either a Nightmares on Wax track or the original track that
they sampled. Think it was a track off of Smoker's Delight. It was during a
scene in the basement when Frederico was working on a body. Love that show!

Well Juan Atkins was supposed to play here in DC last night but apparently
never got on the plane in Detroit. It was a strange lineup--Juan, Jimmy Van
M, and Lee Burridge but we were *willing* to subject ourselves to some of
that progressive stuff so that we could hear Juan. We don't get to he
It is part of Moby's Are:One Festival. The Roots, Incubus (and others) will
be on the main stage and Juan, Derrick, Kevin will be in the Ford Focus side

Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and
although who knows? He cancelled his residency at limelight in NYC before it
started.
Now that he lives in NYC, i think we will be seeing alot more of the

I picked up a User CD however there is no tracklisting and it just came in a
plain case. Anyone know about this release?
There are about 12 or so tracks, all hard, driving techno. I recognized a
track or two from Hawtin's Decks, Efx, and 909.
Thx,

Anyone catch Hawtin at Twilo Friday night?
As always it was an intense night. This is the third set from the DE-909
tour I have seen and it was by far the HARDEST. He started off with some
slow mellow track and then BAM! he mixed in a hard banging track and didn't
let up for a second the rest
It's an OLD Nitzer Ebb track, "Let Your Body Learn" (i think is the title)

Hi, Last year when Hawtin did his defx909 tour in Boston, he played this
pretty hard techno song that sounded like it had distorted cheerleader
yells in it. Can't remember what the chants were, but they sounded

Has anyone heard the soon-to-be-released lp from Tobias Schmidt? I saw that

I once saw and heard a mix CD from H. Laux. I belive it was called "Stand
Down". Sort of downtempo dubby techno. Very nice. But I have never seen it
anywhere again. Any info on this one?

I was there as well. My first time seeing Mills and he lived up to all my
expectations. His skills are incredible and the set just had so much
energy. It was hard techno with soul. I loved how he hit all or most of the
detroit classics. Almost like the DEMF set he would have played had he bee
I saw Juan last week here in DC and while the tracks were great, the set was
ruined by trainwreck after trainwreck. People were shaking their heads and
leaving the floor.

Did anyone else catch Mr. Hawtin at Twilo this Friday? I thought he tore it

dissapointing at the Engage party in DC. I was a bit apprehensive about
