Just picked up the CD version of "At First Sight". On first listen its pretty impressive (as usual). There are definitely shades of the "Every Dog..." releases on most of the tracks as someone mentioned before, although the sound overall reminds me more of the first two Axis 9 releases and maybe even Cycle 30/Growth era Mills - layered strings over tougher beats. The sound is pretty rich overall, with a lot of interconnecting textures and a few oblique elements thrown in any time its in danger of settling too deeply into a groove - classic Axis really. Not the greatest Mills release I've ever come across, but still streets ahead of what any pretenders are doing with this sound.
Sean.
