After reading the interview with Deepchord on Textura ( http://tinyurl.com/27e6rm ) I googled around and found that Boomkat has "The Coldest Season" for sale as an MP3 download. I suppose it would sound better off of vinyl over a $50,000 system that uses modulated gas jets for tweeters, but the 320kbs mp3s sound really nice as well.
My impression of it: the music on this CD is devestatingly simple, but these guys ring more drama out of white noise and vague bass than I ever thought possible. It's like a dream where you're floating in clouds. The exception being 'Hyperean' which is a deliciously blunted reggae instrumental that I will be playing out at the earliest opportunity...
