SEAMUS is the annual conference of the Society for Electro Acoustic Music
in the United States. The Electro Acoustic folks are the Academic end
of the Electronic Music scene. There will be concerts all day and evening
at the University of Iowa April 4th, 5th, and 6th. Check it out at:

http://seamus2002.music.uiowa.edu

OFF SEAMUS are two 'after-parties' Friday and Saturday night, and showcase
9 electronic music artists from the DIY, Punk end of Electronic music.
The purpose of the events is to encourage dialog between Academics and
the self-taught 'folk electronics' movement.

Styles will range from spaced-out dub techno to electro-acoustic improvisatory
mayhem.

The Friday Night venue (Gabe's) is a bar/rock club, where bartenders will
dispense cocktails to qualified adults.

The Saturday Night venue (The Yacht Club) is a semi-private party; it is a
'bring your own refreshments' affair, and music will be going on as long as
all attending can stand it.
