Detroit

exactly, while there was a big demand for them 90-95,those rekids
were getting up to ukp30,but it seems like most ppl just lost intrest
in this kind of stuff, since around 98,bassicly most detroit techno
records are worthless in terms of monetary value(probably with the exception
of Retroactive) ,due to i suppose both:lots of repressing
and change of taste, this is offcourse when you compare this with
idm stuff like Afx,Atchr,skam,reload,b12 or even RITM(can't get over
this one,not that i dislike them, but anything by this guys did seem to
get BIG $$ , in fact that Hazed on +8 probably worth more then the
rest of the +8 cat combined,sorry Dale<)

sadly enough, these Funtopia dwyk ones, probably don't even worth that ;-)

after 12 years, still my fav track on techno1
i think his career would have been diffrent if this&"In this house we
jack" were out on 12" and not just compilation tracks

Hangable 2 was very ltd,1 would make a better comparison
or Gak-by the time it came out nobody wanted to know about
"bleep" (i could have bought 10 of the sale bin) but now is very
"collctbl"

Subject: [313] first flower

i recently came accross the first flower ep on undertow featuring a mills
mix. i'm curious just about everything with this release. did the subjects
release anything else? what are the other releases on undertow,

there were 2 with Mills, the one you have was the first one(tow003)
the 2nd one (tow 003xxx) The subjects v's Jeff Mills had the original
of "1st Flower" and 2 Mills remixes(Dark Matter & Beyond)
these remixes were later rereleased&remixed again on Belgium's
Reload ,some of the original coppies were on clear vinyl
don't know a thing about Undertow or The Subjects, sorry

is the label still around?also, the label says 'side b: the subjects vs.
timothy leary'. was the timothy leary i'm thinking about right now involved
in this?

yup,the Harvard professor who proved the conection betwwen
taking lots of acid&getting cancer at an older age :)
Leary was on a few "dance" records in the early 90's,i suppose
this all came about when the guru of the 60 became a "cyberpunk"
(check out his book"Chaos&Cyberculture" on Ronin)
the first one i'm aware of was Back in 1990 on the pre Tresor
Interfisch(who also did the finalcut rekid in europe, which led to the
UR-Berlin connection)it was by post "Clock Dva" Johny Klimek(yes
same guy who recently did the "Run Lola Run" soundtrack) called
System 01 ft Timothy Leary - From Psychodelics to cybernetics
in the same year he did one with the"new"outfit of ex Soft Cell Dave
Ball =The Grid (Timothy Leary meets the Grid)
btw the Mutated Flower sample on the Mills side is not Leary but was from a
movie,i can't recall(Psych Out?The Trip?Mantis in Lace?)
