Subject: New Kraftwerk Annoucement

Hi all

Today MNS can bring you news of a fantastic new Kraftwerk release.

KRAFTWERK - A SHORT INTRODUCTION TO KRAFTWERK CD / BOOK £15.99

Please note that this is an OFFICIAL release.

Produced by Sonic Books who are personal friends with Kraftwerk. Ralf &
Florian allowed this release to happen as all the tracks (original
recordings) on the CD are over 20 years old, hence the copyright is no
longer with EMI, but with the band members themselves.

For the first time in the 30 years of KRAFTWERK history, this CD offers pre-
viously unreleased NEW version of 7 Kraftwerk classics, never before heard
on any album or compilation! 45 minutes of EXCLUSIVE versions of timeless
classics. The CD opens with a 3.38-minutes harder and more rhythmic version
of 'It's More fun to compute', originally recorded for a planned 12" in
1981, but never released. It is followed by a 1990 re-recording of
'Kristallo', a track from legendary 3rd Kraftwerk-LP 'Ralf & Florian'.
Kraftwerk were working on this version for a possible release on the '91 cd
'The Mix', but the track remained unfinished and can be heard on this CD for
the first time. The following 6 mins. 31' version of 'Autobahn' was another
early study for a re-make, intended for 'The Mix' and is completely
different from both official versions, although the lead vocals are missing.
The very short version of 'Hall of Mirrors' (2.36) dates back to 1976 and is
a demo-version of the song, later released on 'Trans Europe Express'. It
follows an all new instrumental version of 'Radioactivity', that has not
much in common with the official version or Kevorkian's remix on the single
of 1991. Quite minimal, very rhythmic and atmo-spheric at the same time!
'Uranium' was a short track on 1975's 'Radioactivity' album here included in
a completely re-recorded, much longer (7.09) and different version,
originally planned for 'The Mix', but never released. 'Das Model' finally is
included in an early demo-version from late 1977. It was to become Kraftwerk
's biggest hit so far a few years later, when it was re-released as a single
in 1981. The 88 pages booklet in CD-size offers a short introduction to the
great maestros of the 'Electronic Order' who founded in the early 70ies
became a school which was to produce noteworthy heirs all over the planet:
>From the Human League to Depeche Mode, from The Chemical Brothers to the
last techno heroes of our days. Unforgotten and adored by the public,
musicians and critics alike, they have just returned after years of silence
(their last official album dates back to 1986!) with the new single 'Expo
2000', showing that Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider are here to stay for
the third millenium, too. The Booklet includes the band-history, excerpts
from Interviews and full discography including promo-only releases, bootlegs
etc.etc.
