as anyone in your friends list can send a message re new records, club
nights etc

Although the format is clumsy and frustrating, I like Myspace as well.
It's also good if you "subscribe" to an artist, you get updates on any
new music they may put up. It's better for more obscure
ambient/iDm/exp
