Ok, so unless your tx power at the tower is set low or there's a problem in the
signal chain, it's likely a LOS issue.
What does RM say for estimated signal there (assuming you have correct tree
height / density settings in the program)?

On the AF website, it says to use the Hoiday-inn-express
I don't see why anyone would do this, if water gets into your RJ45, something
has failed and needs to be replaced.

My blackberry doesn't support it, but will the site automatically attempt to
get your location via the browers's location feature (either uses gps or nearby
wifi networks)?

Shielded cat5 should not have any effect on lightning losses - the induced
currents would go down the ground wire of whatever bigger structure gets
affected before going down the shield of the cat5.

It's interesting that we needed Ubiquiti to push forward the industry by
creating a high-end/high-capacity backhaul at a very low price, and Cambium to
do the same by creating a wifi-chip-based/value-priced PtMP and mid-capacity
PtP system that has GPS sync and seems to work very well.

I'm at a residential customer install and I may have bitten off more than I can

house through a pipe (since they have a metal roof the only other place I can
install is on the front of their house - ugly).

IIRC AP in 5.8 is limited to 19dbm since they believe you always have a 17dbi

IIRC newer windows versions will not route to a 169.254 IP that is outside your

need to do as administrator "route add 169.254.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0
put.routers.ip.here"

This is scary, I hope they're just reorganizing, not really closed - not good
to lose competition. Their licensed radios looked really good, and the
unlicensed, while quite 'dumb' RF-wise, were solidly built.

Does anyone have resources/FAQs/etc to understand Waveguide compatibility?
Proxim is heavy in the video surveillance market. Price/performace doesn't
matter as much when you're selling to integrators whose experience isn't on the
wireless side and who only know your name.
