------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Mar 28 06:16:01 -0800
2005 -------
I'm running a German WinXP Home and tried to install OOo 2.0 Beta.
I unpacked the ZIP to "p:\tmp\OOo_2.0beta_Win32Intel_install" with
WinZip, where "p:\" is defined as:

  subst p: "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\thh\Eigene Dateien\pernod"

Start "setup.exe". After button "Install", setup fails with

"wizard interrupted before OpenOffice.org 1.9.79 could be completely
installed"

Now I've already found out that setup works after moving the installation
directory to "c:\OOo_2.0beta_Win32Intel_install", but I'd like to suggest
enhancements to the installer and documentation:

- Neither the installer nor the install documentation tells you how to
get an installation log. I found this:

    "msiexec /i openofficeorg1979.msi /l*vx output.log"

Please include that information in the installer and the install docs.

- The log above contained:

  Property(C): OutOfDiskSpace = 0
  Property(C): OutOfNoRbDiskSpace = 0
  Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceAvailable = 0
  Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceRequired = 0
  Property(C): PrimaryVolumeSpaceRemaining = 0

Is there any possibility to evaluate the information and give the user
  a helpful error message?

- If nothing else, a note that the installation should be unzipped
to the same drive as the installation would help.

Thanks,
  ThorbjÃrn
