AFAIK the idea is to bring Excel's users to Calc, so Calc should be as similar as possible to Excel or at least has the option to program the key configuration as Excel or as Calc or even if the user knows another spreadsheet customize the keystrokes. I had done a lot of publicity of Open Office tools, but the people complaint about the many dialogs to do everything that Excel does more "intelligently", without many dialogs.
