The functionality does exist when you press the = key. Since Visicalc on the old DOS Machines, and including Lotus 1-2-3, Quatro, and Excel, the + key, espcially on the numeric keypad, has initiated a formula entry. Currently, OO recongizes it as an alpha key rather than numeric. This is a problem users who are used to using the + key to develop spreadsheets. This one inlcluded :).
