The table has a typical horizontal structure: The table has one row. The row has two elements (i.e. <TD>. ) Each of theese elements contains a table The table has a coloured background. Structure is explained by the DOM Mozilla screenshot. If you select the table and import it in Ms Excel97, the table is imported correctly, as for the background as well as the horizontal structure. If you try to copy and paste import the table in OOO calc 2.0 build 146 , the horizontal structure is lost, and so the coloured background. It seems the HTML parser inside calc is not considering the background. Even worst, the parser is not understanding that two subtables are following a horizontal path (the row) and it is simply inserting rows "one after another".
