Hello,
I'm not sure that this problem is actually caused by ALSA, but I thought maybe someone
else had experienced similar problems. I've been using ALSA with my Gentoo linux
system for months without trouble, using my motherboards built-in audio, so I don't
think there's anything wrong with th
Hello all
I've been trying for about a week now to get cmipci to output 5.1 sound.
In xine or mplayer I get very bassy distortion. 2 speakers work fine,
as does the mirrored rear speaker setting in the mixer, but I'd like
more than that. Help would be greatly appreciated.

hello All,
I'm trying to activate a korg1212 in my Compaq AP400 workstation.
I set up the alsadrivers just as described in the soundcards page of the=20
alsa-project.org webpage.
I also put an asoundrc file into /etc with the basic configuration as=20
described in the page mentioned above.

Alsaconf recognizes my system and also correctly tells me to use the
cs4236 driver instead of cs46xx, but then inevitably hangs the whole
Takashi, thanks for these corrections!
It'd be great to see yet more reports about successes, failures, suspected
problems, etc, etc concerning different soundcards and chipsets on

I have a MSI KT3 Ultra2-R motherboard with Realtek

with the package, I have compiled the source code and installed the drivers

Hallo.
I posted a message few days ago about ALC650 5.1 output but I got no
answers. I deduce that my onboard audio will never work in 5.1
So I resigned myself to buy a new sound card, but I don't want to miss
this one too.
What cards are supported in 6 channel mode?
I surely know about the C-M

Yes it is possible to get 5.1 sound out from the SbLive via the analog
connectons. I have a 5.1 sound system hooked up with the center & sub
connected to the digital connector.
Is your sound card setup to output as digital audio or analog? Cause you
just get noise in digital mode.

On Fri,
I recently became a ALSA convert, and have generally been pleased w/its
features. However, I have some legacy apps which require OSS support.
XMMS works fine, as I have installed ALSA 0.9 output plugin
(libALSA.so), but I have not been able to get sound from AIM,
Realplayer, and mplayer.

Alsa didnt work after installing new rpm kernel using up2date, although
it compiled all right. The mashine freezed when starting XMMS.
Many here on the list have had the same problems whitout finding any
solution to it. But a reader, who I cant remember his name, suggested that the problems were c

Title: SBLive + 5.1 output
Hi,
Has anyone had success in outputting 5.1 audio from SBLive cards?
I'm led to believe that the digital out connector can be made to act as a Center/LFE analog connector, but thus far the most I've been able to do is get it to play muffled versions of "somethin
