I have no problem using dmix + plug with my SB Live usin
You need to be using the emu10k1 drivers. They include the Audigy series, etc.
Audigy2 support seems to vary widely. I have a audigy2 plat ex. and ALSA does not find
it. If you don't need ALSA, i would suggest using the emu10k1-cvs drivers that
