I've been trying to get the AC3 passthrough
feature on my Audigy2 working again to no avail. I get either
only stereo sound through the spdif or noise of even silence.
I am using alsa-* 1.0.4 on kernel 2.6.5.
What mixer/iecset and other settings do I need to get it working again?
Jurgen
Hi,
I have problems with the spdif AC3 pass-through function on the
Aureal au8830 (which is configured as my second audio device). When I
try to use AC3 pass-through with mplayer I get:
Forced audio codec: hwac3
Opening audio decoder: [hwac3] AC3/DTS pass-through SP/DIF
No accelerated IMDCT trans

Hmm, I was opting for the Audigy Platinum Ex. I need those
digital connectors. I'll have to wait a bit longer then...:-(
Are there any cards which resemble the Audigy Platinum Ex (in both
performance and features) which are fully supported?
Cheers,

Hi,
I'm not very happy with my onboard i810 based audio (I stupidly sold my
Live! 5.1.) so I am looking for a new soundcard. In the sources I see
references to audigy but not the audigy2. Is the Audigy2 supported? If
so, what works and what not (yet)?
Thanks,
Jurgen
