Hi, Since I don't think I'll manage to get the built-in ES1869 of my Compaq Armada 3500 working under ALSA, I'm thinking of buying a USB device. But are USB device supported under ALSA? I checked the ALSA soundcard matrix, and I noticed that only the Soundblaster Extigy might be supported a

Hi, I'm trying to get ALSA working on my laptop, a Compaq Armada 3500. The soundchip is an ESS 1869. But it doesn't work with the snd-es18xx.o module. Under OSS I have it running as a Soundblaster, with "modprobe sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=5". But this same 'trick' doesn't work under ALSA.
