I'm trying to get ALSA working on my laptop, a Compaq Armada 3500. The
soundchip is an ESS 1869. But it doesn't work with the snd-es18xx.o module.
Under OSS I have it running as a Soundblaster, with "modprobe sb
io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=5". But this same 'trick' doesn't work under
ALSA.
